Yesterday heralded the Australian release of the latest installments in the Pokémon franchise, Black and White. To my shock and horror (disgust even?), sc2sea had no appropriate thread to discuss everyones favorite little critters, so here it is:

Discuss the games, manga, collectibles, hell, all things Pokémon here! (Except the anime, let's not go there)

Pokemon yellow is the best of the games because you start with a pikachu and compare that to the repetitive starters kind of silly but also cause the elite four was like lvl 76 and now the games elite four is like level 50 max, modern games makes you wounder and you could catch all the starting pokemon before the 3rd gym, that is kind of bad ass, not going to lie.

Pokemon Yellow was incredible, except that stupid Pikachu refused to evolve. Still, Gold/Silver are the best yet. I'll see if I still think that way after Black, which is supposed to be the hardest yet.

Tell you who was badass?

Alakazam. Used this guy in pretty much every game.

Imo, Red/Blue/Green were the best versions, you could do the rare candy cheat and get everything to 99 xD

Yeah, lot's of people like the first generation best. I guess it's just for nostalgia sake, cause Gold/Silver/Crystal improved upon them in every way

My favourites would have to be Gold/Silver/Crystal, closely followed by Yellow version. Gotta love that pikachu!

As if ! Gold/Silver destroyed pokemon! I remember the good ol' days , playing red/blue. Yellow was fine, but i didn't like the fact that i pikachu never evolves. Also, i don't think you can do the missingno cheat , or clone pokemons in yellow. Red/Blue was where the fun was at ! Rare candy your pokemons to 99, then battle with other players

I agree with Cure! Red/blue were the best for sure, the later versions tried too hard. And perhaps the novelty at the beginning helped too.

red blue and yellow were amazing as the orginals i think silver gold were good as used kanto too all the rest that didnt add on annoyed me as it wouldve been awesome being able to travel through all the regions getting only the pokemon of the region. thats what i wish they did anyway then pokemon would be 10x as good

and id still play it
