SC2SEA Announces Free Hosting for clans!

Intro
Seeing how popular clans are here (The Clan database thread has a massive 18k Views!!) I've decided to offer absolutely free hosting for clans on sc2sea! IMO apart from some of the barriers that stop clans from making sites (hosting costs, coding) the main problem that plagues existing clan home pages is the lack of new traffic / content.

Normally the site's content is static and rarely changes, so only clan members end up visiting the site but because it doesn't get updated much after awhile even they stop visiting. Also, the need to register on the site to post deters some visitors from participation since they don't have accounts. Lastly, new clans sometimes don't wish to invest in a coder / hosting because they are uncertain of the clan's future or don't have the expertise to do so.

We hope to address all these problems by giving clans a homepage they can proudly show that everyone will see, integrating the clan sites with our high-traffic existing community.

How this works is your clan will be hosted / integrated with our site. You pay no hosting fees, need no coding knowledge, and all the basic design / implementation will be set up for you! You can then choose to customise / edit it how you wish (as easy as editing a forum post) as you will be in total control of the pages. View the house clan sites currently set up at

This is just something I was playing around with yesterday and there will be alot more improvements / better integration with the forums. I'm still trying to create a separate forum section for each individual clan as well as a Latest News area so the content is dynamic and gets updated, and when it is will automatically be displayed under the "Community & Clans" forums when posted.

• No Tiring content maintenance to generate traffic

• Hopefully this integration will result in more clan activities like featured weekly clan wars.

FAQ:
Q: I already have a clan page, can I still host my clan on sc2sea?
A: Yes you can, just fill up the form!

Q: I want in! What do I have to do?
A: You can apply for your clan page to be hosted simply by filling up this form.

Q: Can any clan be hosted?
A: Unfortunately not. We do not want clans to sign up only to become inactive or not post anything so there will be some "quality control". Note - Clans of all leagues are encouraged to apply, and in fact the lower the league the better as these players really benefit alot from clans! This quality control refers to dedication not Starcraft ability. The basic requirement to have your clan hosted is to have active members who frequently post on sc2sea, as well as to prove you will be a dedicated clan that will last by filling up the form properly!

Is there a place to go to see all the clans who have used this new feature (ie a bar on the side of the front page or something)? the only way i can seem to find the other clans (SPR) who have made one is through the link to alt's page.

So far its just those 3 clans, alt, spr, crux. when theres like 5+ clans i plan to put it more prominently on the main page to further reward/ encoruage clan activity on the site. im holding off atm as i dont wish pple to say im biased to alt or some stupid crap like that

crux one is still awaiting editing by stallion and will be posted on news when he tells me its ready hope to see more clans sign up for this

oh wow I am glad this initiative 1.5 years ago turned out well looks at the sc2sea house clans today!

my major goal for sc2sea this year is to open up a LoL portal which our members can use and easily switch inbetween. since so many gamers play both games theres bound to be good synergy. lets make this happen!
