Making a full guide is bit too much, as the game is still in beta and there are balances regularly, but I was wondering what people do in HotS which allow you to get the new units out.
Currently, I play HotS as I would play WoL but I wanted some fun builds which would allow me to get the new units out.
In you wouldn't mind, please include a reply, as well as a short description on what your build does, as well as the timings for the opener.
I've currently been doing a 4-5 oracle opening off a fast stargate FFE to harass bases, force spores and take out a base if they aren't prepared. It can also snipe important tech if they're lazy about their building placement.
I then transition to zealot colossus tempest for the most part. I've been loving tempests in general and getting an extra stargate to double pump them and I've been having tons of fun abusing their long as **** range. I've been able to deal with infestor/broodlord armies with no archons and more importantly no vortex. Archons aren't bad to have though, because they're just awesome in late game everything.
I also sprinkle in a few oracle's for time warp or whatever it's called and its super cool.
I'm working on incorporating multiple warp prism harass with zealots, since I'm already making so many, on exterior bases and stretching the zerg more thin.
Well not sure what race you play but in any match up but specifically ZvP 2 Base Lair = Swarm host expand is pretty viable just make sure your opponent isn't going some kinda quick air build,
and if they do after you expand get corrupters or infestors,
hydra's are still kinda meh

pvz nexus first/ffe into 2 oracles off stargate into colossus and gates as taking 3rd and watching out for timing pushes in general
pvt same as ever just react slightly different to mech
pvp 1 gate expand with the core idk how functions anymore havnt played it in a while but pretty much the same as in woL but more comps from mid to late game
Stally you don't open mothership core? I have not had a game where protoss doesn't open msc... I guess it gives good defense against all-in's, banshee/hellion harras. Also allows for harassment of terrans base if they FE..
In TvZ and TvT, instead of the usual Hellion/Banshee opening, I've been doing Hellion / Spider Mine, means you make two factories instead of 1 Factory 1 Starport. You can either do a double reactor or 1 reactor 1 tech lab (to research blue flame or siege tech asap). I feel that banshee has lost it's power due to the metagame for TvZ, where Zergs now just make spores because banshee comes almost 100% of the time. When you think you have enough mines, you can add on more Factories / Barracks and a Starport for Vikings.
A strong PvP build is to get standard 12 gate, than 20-22 gate, and getting 3 stalkers with chrono. Then get a mothership core with it too. Put pressure on front with the stalkers, then send the core to the mineral line and start sniping probes.
