Regarded by many as the best foreign starcraft 2 player in the world, Ilyes "Stephano" Satour has just ended his contract with french team Millenium. The 19 year old who recently won the third season of the NASL and is by far the most consistent foreign player of 2012 enters this weekend's MLG as the top seeded Non-Korean where he will represent Millenium for one last time, having represented them for 4 years as a Warcraft 3 / Starcraft 2 player.
Various insiders have hinted that team many regard as having the biggest pockets in the scene, Evil Geniuses look to pick up their Stephano as their next major signing. Evil Geniuses having already acquired ThorZaIN and Suppy this year.
Current EG lineup: DeMusliM IdrA iNcontroL(c) JYP HuK LzGaMeR Machine PuMa Suppy ThorZaIN

Millenium's Marketing manager's twitter "@MillStephano will leave @M_Millenium after this @MLG for an awesome salary. He has been working hard with us for the past 4 years. GLHF bb "
a fun fact: Evil Genius has more non-korean players than Team Liquid

im so excited i want to see if stephano can break the 'EG curse' haha. Im a big fan of him even though he crushes my favourite toss player MC sometimes so if he joins EG i hope he just keep on playing well unlike HuK no good results at all T_T.
What's wrong with players joining EG? On the other hand, I hope he continues to put up strong results and continues to do consistently in tournaments, especially the upcoming GSL if he wishes to take his seed.
However, iNcontrol made what might be a subtle hint about this recently - he said that they interview and consider a lot of great big time players, but the selection criteria include their ability to do things like speak to media, other abilities they have that make them able to represent EG etc.
I'd be leaning away from EG.Stephano, but I guess it's possible.
Oh and Eras, you say that like it's scores of players, not a handful :P EG lineup size is pretty comparable to most other foreign teams.
I just feel like they go from being the star on some other team to being just another EG player. I -like- the fact that EG manages to pay these top guys what they're worth in terms of publicity/popularity, but **** it, I hate the same thing with football (soccer for some people) when teams just buy up so much talent, even when it doesn't make them a better team.

Yeah I agree with you mate. I feel that way about football and to some extent the same with eSports. Its really awesome to see these top tier teams, who have the ability to offer their players a lot more than what others can. But buying up the talent (PSG and Man City) and just expecting it to add value to the team, Is something I dont particularly agree with...
Keep in mind that this is also a job for Stephano. Chances are he'll do what will get him paid most. I think it's a little naive of the community to think that he shouldn't join "x" team because of some sentiment about them. In the end, if he gets paid considerably more and it is an environment he likes... He'll go there.

this.
he's already said that he;s basically playing the game for the money.. and i think EG is the team that can give him the most
On Inside The Game just now, IdrA and iNcontrol basically said yeah, EG wants Stephano, they have made an offer, but it's still very much up in the air from Stephano's end
Stephano has gone on record that he's in this for the money, this is a job for him. The fun is an amusing side point to the fact that he wants to make as much money as possible before leaving the scene.
Knowing this it's not surprising that EG would snap him up.
I really dont want him to join EG!!! I HATE EG!!!!
