I've been farming A1 now for quite some time, I have all my gear, I have the build.

It just seems that I don't even make a dent in the elite packs. Is it like this across the board?

Act 2 is a significant step up from act 1. Act 1 felt like more a 5th act of hell than the first act of Inferno as far as difficulty goes imo.

act 2 inferno is much harder then act 2 just because of the fact the monsters are much smarter then the zombies of act 1.

Id say stick with act 1 get 5 stacks and kill butcher and gear up more.

Yeah, I thought at first that A1 inferno was a bit easy. But it feels as if the gap between A1 and A2 is huge.

If you're having trouble with act 2, it could be

1: Build needs refinement - Watch a pro player of your class stream and copy some of their builds, changing a few here and there to suit your personal needs! In my case, I was too defensive in my skill sets and couldn't take down anything..

2: Needs more farming!!! - You'll be surprised what kind of gear drops / rolling is available in act 1 inferno! Just start ques at the imprisoned angel 'begin quest' , farm HoA 1 , 2 , warden, HoA 3 and butcher again and again! I got a helm that sold for 2.8 mil gold within an hour from those runs apart from others that can range anywhere from 50k - 2mil gold! Those gold = phat lewt from AH = progression!

It's possible to do act 2 with insufficient gear, body hopping and going for bosses.. But you'll get stuck eventually if you don't farm! That said, act 2 is significantly harder than act 1 and it actually takes almost a full set of inferno gear to complete with most post-nerf build unlike act 1 where you can have a combination of high end nightmare loots - hell loots!
