[TvT] Just lost to proxy marauder, how should I react next time?

Well.. this is a disgrace as I blanked out when I saw 1 marauder knocking at my doorstep at the early minutes into the game.

I was doing the standard 12rax 12gas reaper into reactor build when the marauder charged in immediately.. Well my first reaper was halfway into the opponents base but I pulled it back to defend with SCVs, but by that time he had 2-3 marauders which kited me whole day long with the concussion shells upgrade.

How do I defend again such thing, apart from scouting around my "possible enemy proxy locations" with my first reaper.

I tried building bunkers (x2) near my main CC, but my marines couldnt make it to the bunker

I was thinking after the game, should I have pulled about 8-10 SCVS and surround the first marauder until my marines are out?

do tell me your suggestions!

Scout and make a bunker once you identify it. Look at Jjakji vs Flash last night for a perfect response.

What i like to do at those sort of levels, is build a bunker to 98% in the main then complete it if either there is a lot of reaper aggression or marauder.

Slows down tech/expansion but is a safe bet

There's not too much you can do against that especially if you were building a reactor, the goal for you, if your being attacked by proxy marauders is to not let the marauders come up your main ramp and to get enough marines / a banshee / anything except widow mines and hellions. This means that you should generally build a bunker as soon as you know hes going proxy marauders by your main ramp. You can also pull scvs to block the marauders coming up the ramp, just don't chase them down it, maintain the high ground so that the marauders cannot attack your units or structures or kite your units.

Once you have about 10 marines or a tank on the high ground push out against the marauders. Make sure your building a CC behind this in your main unless your wanting to go for a 1 base push which is ill advised considering you don't know what tech choices your opponent has made. If you somehow scout your opponent after deflecting the marauders and see that he has nothing at home then feel free to do a push however the most common response is to macro up as a good transition from proxy marauders is a 1 base tank push which is deadly if you have no tanks of your own.

Against Proxy marauder just make non stop marine. if u have alrdy drop ur command center, pull some scv and combat the marauder but pull the weak ones back. Pull about 5 scvs(more if you are not confident), 1 scv build bunker and just buy time till u get more marine this will force the marauder to stutterstep backwards, buying time for bunker.
