The phoenix can still be put out fairly early for harass with the shorter build time. I hope they don't replace them as they are a pretty cool unit now.

From the picture the central energy part makes me think of flying caster but who know it may be a hovercraft type tank for all we know !

I so wanted an air unit, and now it looks like I gots it.

I so much love protoss air, the powerrier, the defencemoship, the uselessray and the rape'oenix. Now I get another toy to play with, and own more zerg with unstoppable air ball.

It could be like the sentry.. Just a hovering unit, hence why it looks like an air unit? Maybe its got an energy ball in its "arms" that doesnt get shown by the silhouette?

Have you guys not seen Toy Story? The Claw is the first obvious clue here.

Now when you consider the associated concept, it's quite clear that Pudge/Devourer is the new Protoss unit in Heart of the Swarm! Protoss will be able to grapple your key tech units and drag them behind enemy lines where they can be crushed helplessly.
