Team Immunity is seeking to re-establish our Starcraft 2 presence within the Australian scene. Previously we have supported individuals such as mOOnGLaDe and YYJ. This time however rather than focus on a single player we are seeking to create a squad of talented players at varying degrees of skill - from seasoned veterans through to up and coming super stars. There is no fixed number for the amount of players we are willing to support however nominally I'm thinking five.
We are looking for extremely dedicated individuals. People who have the time and are prepared to commit the hours required in order to succeed. Players will be required to sign NDA's and will be contracted to the team for a definite period. During this time all rules, regulations and code of conduct must be strictly adhered to.
As Australia's premier eSports team and one of the world's longest running we can offer some great opportunities to successful candidates. Below I have broken down some of the many benefits into National and International categories. The International benefits are performance based and need to be earned through achievements Nationally and Online.
Nationally
Full complement of SteelSeries peripherals.
Flights, accommodation and transport to National events.
Entry fees to all competitions.
PC & Hardware support.
Monthly Salary options will be available for players who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the team, provide a high degree of dedication and good results.
Internationally
Flights, accommodation, transport and entry fees to International events.
Opportunity to live and practise alongside South Korean Code S players.
The Starcraft 2 division will be managed by our RTS/MOBA division manager Dane 'Herbz' Dunlop and myself. If you have any questions or think you have what it takes feel free to comment in this thread or contact me via a confidential PM.
Update
Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who has applied, we've had a great response. I haven't had time to reply to everyone however rest assured we are reviewing each and every candidate and are currently processing through our own internal procedures in order to select candidates - everyone will be responded to.
Update #2 - Starcraft 2 Shoutcasters

@QEDSchnitzel - I'm not sure what you mean with regard to restrictions? We won't simply be focusing on Grand Master level - however you will need to show continued tangible improvements on your quest to reach that level.
What i meant is that if a, for example, master level player who has not had any great tournament winnings attempted to join, what your decision would be in regards to that. Because if i have a slight chance of being accepted i might consider applying ^_^

@QEDSchnitzel - For at least two positions within the squad we will be focusing on more up and coming players. We will look at a number of factors - aside from tournament wins we will also look at how fast or slow that person is progressing through the ranks and if they have defeated higher ranked players and the circumstances surrounding it. Ultimately these players will be trialed in-game so we can gauge accurately where they sit and the potential they have.

@SQL.yang - The International opportunities are only limited by the tournaments own rules. Some events like the Intel Extreme Masters we receive invites to and do not need to qualify for. MLG I believe you can still enter open bracket and progress through to finals via that method. Ultimately we will look at all angles in order to get our key player/s overseas. Since our inception 9 years ago we have competed multiple times in more than 14 countries across 3 continents in games such as Counter-Strike 1.6, Call of Duty, WC3, FIFA, HALO etc - it is nothing new to us.
Also I'm still new to these forums but private messages appear to show up in Chat? Not sure if there is a confidential button? Worst case you can email me directly - sc2[a<>t]team-immunity.com

IEM have always run qualifiers to get a SEA player for SC2, is it different now or something?

@xGKingiaguz - We've attended a number of IEM events through invitation - including being invited to the Grand Final. Certainly SC2 is a different beast and I cannot confirm anything at this stage - however sharing Intel as a major sponsor with IEM has its benefits.
This is probably the best offer I have seen so far in SEA in terms of benefits for players. Hope some really good players apply and Team Immunity is awesome for doing this!
I strongly doubt that. Typically SEA only gets 1 seed for IEM events and we have a qualifier for it. Sometimes there's issues regarding travel difficulties and in that case it would be fine for the iM player to take it but if iM takes precedence over running a qualifier that would be some bullshit.

I hope that is never the case.
This x1,000 - there are several teams that would send a player provided they won the qualifier.
@xGKingiaguz - No spots are taken at all. They do however look to partners in order to fill gaps if players from any region cannot attend. They generally try and fill with a team or player from that region however this is not always the case. ESL/IEM have always worked this way, for every game they run. I'd say the odds are a little smaller as it's very easy getting 1 or 2 players overseas, it's more an issue when talking 5 man squads.
@TAdeL - Herbz has been taking a break. He's now back on deck and ready to go.
Speaking from personal experience and previous involvement in the iM camp I can tell you this is the best opportunity anyone from SEA will get in regards of support and being given the chance to go overseas for sc2 to improve your skills. Sent1nel is a man of his word and my time was easily the best out of my gaming career in terms of support received/trips given/gear etc... I'd be jumping at this chance if i were you guys!
May sound like a massive bias opinion here and blowing the iM trumpet, but i was part of pretty much every gaming 'dynasty' in australia and iM is a head above everyone else by a massive margin
Great to see a very well established programing team finally come surface to create a squad! Always heard of Team IM, famous for supporting GLaDe! I'd love to see some top players from SEA become successful with such a solid team.
Awesome news!
When you say practice alongside Code S players... does that mean you guys will support them living in KR to practice in a team house or something?
It was only a matter of time until Team Immunity decided to really break into the SC2 scene. It wouldn't be a suprise to see some big names from other teams jump ship.
This is very exciting as I think IM definitley has what it takes to take the lead for SC2 in SEA.

Yes we have good relationships with many International teams and the practice will take place at a house with Code S players. Good bad or indifferent I was the one who arranged for StarTale Ace to come and compete at the NRG SC2 competition. We will cover the travel expenses primarily however will be open to negotiation with regards to fixed living expenses.
We are primarily looking for Australian players however anyone from SEA can apply - however the players outside of Australia would be looked upon to fill the higher tier positions rather than the up and coming.
Thanks for the well wishes guys, good to see you around Miles.

For those interested we've had this question quite a few times so I thought I'd drop the answer in here.
Competing Internationally won't be a once off, it will be continued attendance at events. Using the MLG as an obvious example as you can attend without qualification - pending good results locally the top tier player/s will be sent to every MLG for the foreseeable future. It is important to note however that we will be looking for continued improvement at each of these events. If a player is not seen to be improving or slipping, this will impact the number of International events attended.
Thanks for all of the interest and responses thus far. It will take a little while to get through them all but every single person will be responded to.
Fantastic to see Immunity making another strong push into the RTS scene, I think it'll really pay dividends for the players/Immunity, especially considering how much easier it is to play in international tournaments these days.
There's a tonne of good A and B team players that Immunity can pick up, so it's going to be interesting to see who they go for. Well played, Sent1nel.
Hey dippa, I see you're CS1.6 skills are paying off as a Grand Master on SEA.
I'm very excited about getting into SC2 in a big way. We're working on 2 competitions as well at the moment but everyone will hear more about that soon.
You DIOL'd yet? Guessing it's not hugely different to online?
What are everyone's thoughts on South Korean ladder - for example how does a GM from SEA stack up there ranking wise? Master? Or do we have AU GM players there also kicking it?
As an aside I can't believe I wrote you're instead of your - clearly I need more sleep

Most of the really top SEA players (the currently sponsored ones) are very high masters on Korea. Most GMs can get into korean masters I believe, as can some high masters players.
as far as i know, the only Aussie to be in Korean GM was moonglade when he was actually in Korea, so playing without any of the lag most people get to that server.
Glade has been the only gm on Korea from sea and that was when he was playing in Korea where you get like 1-5 ms latency.
A majority of sea gm are masters on korea but only about a dozen sea players are like high enough ranked mmr masters on korea who play gms there regularly. Those that come to mind are Light, PiG, tgun, iaguz, Rossi, deth, EdgE, GLaDe, EnDerr, ice, RedArchon and myself.

You missed someone fagchops. Also yeah, Anyone outside top 100gm on SEA will struggle making masters on KR. It's that much tougher over there.
Who is this mOOnGLaDe person you speak of? :P I heard about the MLG drama's you had, pretty terrible form by them to be honest. The admin in charge needs to be KFC.
Interesting about the high ranking masters. The difference between reaching GM there is the ping? Timezones? or skill level?
@TargA - Heatstroke?
Interesting about the high ranking masters. The difference between reaching GM there is the ping? Timezones? or skill level?
Honestly ping makes a difference, a bit of it is luck however. Really it comes down to how many smurfs of the Code S guys get in first, mixed in with who happens to be playing on the day etc. I'd say the top 2-3 of most masters divisions are easily interchangeable with the bottom ~50 GM's.
GM is fun to try for, but I wouldn't take it as a hard and fast measure of skill, only an approximation*
*Clearly if anyone is remotely near this level, they are GOOD, I'm not trying to belittle any of their achievements.
Skill level. So many foreign progamers also play on the korean server, also the same like top 10 korean players have like 5 smurfs each in GM, then you add in all the gosu code a/code b/ people trying to get into code b and you have a really high skill curve server where its pretty hard to get gm. Generally its considered really good if youre rank 1-5 in your division or around 700-900 points master i think?
And to a lesser extent ping etc
Light and Glade are a level ahead of everyone else in terms of Korean ladder ranking at the moment. Likely they'll get into GM if they ladder when the reset happens.
It should probably be stressed that the difference in skill between Koreans and any other region is not even remotely comparable. They have the highest density of skilled players anywhere and most of them are better then everyone else.
You DIOL'd yet? Guessing it's not hugely different to online?
LOL that's a bit unnecessary :P You're right in that the difference is minimised though, since there's no major benefit to playing at LAN in terms of ping like there was with CS.
if you have any questions about the scene that you want to ask privately BTW, i can help you out (or point you in the direction of those who can if you want other opinions).

Wow wish I saw this earlier before the player applications closed.
Seeing things like this, where it's open-application, without having to know somebody, or know someone who knows someone - is really really great. It's also really motivating to myself as a player.
Good luck to everyone at ACL today, Lloyd one of my mangers will be swinging by at some point. We are going to be watching proceedings closely and I'd say if anyone wins who wasn't in a team they'd be expecting a phone call.
I'd say that's about spot on, around the 10th would be close. Our Shoutcast team might be announced a little sooner as that is a little more clear cut. I must say I've been impressed with the quality of applicants and I've had a tiring yet enjoyable time going through them all.

Just putting this out there... but I'm going to guess - iM are waiting for; team leagues like xGTL or ASiT to finish before announcing their players.. they might also look at results of the Gigabyte LAN...?
EDIT - RE: Chris' rep comment - I don't think they will take your entire team.. but xG and SQL will no doubt lose players to iM - these players might want to play out the xGTL before transfering - which is good team spirit and pride for their current team... but the grass is aways greener - when you've got as much money as iM...
USING MY SECRET DRAGON INVESTIGATION SKILLS, I MANAGED TO STUMBLE UPON THESE LEAKED PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE IMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT PHOTO EVENT
That confirms it fellas, GLaDe and Yoon to iM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I find it hard to believe that your dragon investigated anything as it's hard for a giant horned fire breathing creature to be inconspicuous. Are you sure you didn't burn any villages for those photos?

I don't mean to be a nuisance here, but would it be possible to get an update please? Its just that bits been over a month since applications opened, and just over 4 weeks since they closed, and I nor the people I have talked to have heard anything from iM. Feedback of some kind would be nice
Cheers,

Dont you mean 2012? That way we would all have to go see the master Nestea in order to time travel back to when the team was announced to discover who got in!
I certainly appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and I'm enjoying some of the posts!
We have however unfortunately been delayed as I'm sure you are all well aware. The reason behind this is that we are however showing each and every application (even some coming in recently) all of the attention they deserve. We aren't simply looking at rankings, we have the ePolice on the job looking at everything from forum posts through to Facebook profiles and personality - odds on I know what you did last summer.
So where does that leave us now? We will begin unveiling players starting next week in a steady stream over the next month or so.
For those that may have missed it, be sure to register up for the GESC competition and the online qualifiers. We are giving away over $1200 in prizes on the qualifiers alone!
iM really curious to see your line up.. If anyone has some intel on who is in this team, lemme know.. I might have to Steal some information.. alot of it tho.. continually, like in a series.. like a Steel Series..
Anyway, hurry up and announce your line up, I've ben q qing about this for ages.

The Chad is great!
I think his post means that because Team Immunity are offering so much, they are challenging peoples loyalties to their current team (wanting to leave for more cash money dollar billz).
And he wishes this team to be a new 'force' in South East Asia.
Yea I have to say it has been a while and everyone (won't say who... ch*d*ann), but however I'm sure they have a cool team coming so I don't mind the wait. Plus there's been a lot of news happening around sc2sea so I'm sure they are just planning the right time.
I'm sure some keen eyed detectives have already spotted a few things happening over the last few days however I'm proud to officially announce the first member of our newly constructed SC2 squad as:
iM Mafia
Mafia whilst still being relatively new to electronic sports has made some big steps to becoming one of the best. Mafia will be representing Team Immunity in today's first GESC Online Qualifier - we wish him the best of luck throughout the competition and welcome aboard!

I know people have been waiting for this for a while so without further ado it's my great pleasure to announce 3 new additions to the Team Immunity family.
First and foremost I'm excited to officially unveil the first two members of our Shout-Casting team. These are some familiar faces to all of you and without a doubt you'll be seeing a lot more of them in the coming months.
iM System
iM Zain
On the player front I'm also very happy to announce the latest addition to our SC2 roster. A seasoned veteran of eSports from Western Australia who is always looking to improve - the one, the only:
iM yang
Yang now becomes the 2nd member of our SC2 roster to compliment Mafia. I'm definitely excited at what we're going to be doing with these players in the very near future.
For everyone else who has been keeping an eye on this thread, we will have more updates in the coming weeks with additional recruitments of our Shout-Casting and SC2 rosters!

Huh, THIS COMPLICATES ALL MY THEORIES ABOUT LEAKED INFO STALLION GIVES ME!
On a more related note, system and zain are perhaps my two favourite casters in the region and will give iM very good publicity I imagine, on the otherhand getting yang is huge as well as he is easily a top 3 protoss in the region.
@Arnor Safest compliment of all time right? :P

It's that time again, time to unveil one more piece to our SEA SC2 puzzle!
It is my great pleasure to announce the latest addition to Team Immunity's Shout-Casting and coverage team:
iM Zepph
Zepph brings some much needed charisma and an analytical mindset to the beat boxing crew. Always one step ahead of the game she will provide some great insight into the mechanics behind the play as it unfolds.
Make sure you give her a big shout-out and she might, just might, sign your mouse pad in Melbourne!

One of ToT player is keen to find a pro team in sea, he was 1400+points(with about 100 bonus) protoss in kr server last season, and wouldnt be very suprised if he get gm this season. he live in melbourne for just half year, thats why nobody know him, application for Team im has been sent, waiting for your reply
Ps:feel free to contact me if any other pro teams have interests in him
Our A-team lineup is taking form nicely, first Mafia and then yang - two established top-tier players. In our first announcement, we said that we were not simply recruiting the superstars of today but those also of tomorrow. We've looked for applicants that exude the potential and dedication required to be part of Team Immunity and are happy to announce the third addition to our playing roster:
iM SundeR
SundeR has become a staple of Brisbane LANs in the past year, having qualified for the ACL Gold Coast group stage in January. Being part of the Team Immunity environment will help him continue to develop and refine his skills as a Grand Master and to become a serious contender.
Stay tuned for more news on our players, media and shoutcasting in the next couple of days!

Anything related to that thread has been discussed in the thread itself, this is a long time ago and even though time itself doesn't justify stuff like this, it's in the past and I've moved on. Me being offensive isn't an issue anymore and hasn't for a while now.

Yeah.. I've hung out with SundeR at all the ACL Brisbane qualifiers and ACL Gold Coast and he is a really, really nice guy - I'd personally vouch for his professionalism, manner and demeanour at Live LAN events. A really nice guy that may have had some frustration in the past on ladder - but has definitely moved on and turned over a new leaf a long time ago.. I suggest we all do that too, and move on.
Best of luck SundeR! great up and coming/devoted player!
I'm on a stateliner bus in the middle of the country but I just had to come on here on my phone and say congratulations to ray the second I found out about this!! Gl buddy
