Interesting about the high ranking masters. The difference between reaching GM there is the ping? Timezones? or skill level?

Honestly ping makes a difference, a bit of it is luck however. Really it comes down to how many smurfs of the Code S guys get in first, mixed in with who happens to be playing on the day etc. I'd say the top 2-3 of most masters divisions are easily interchangeable with the bottom ~50 GM's.

GM is fun to try for, but I wouldn't take it as a hard and fast measure of skill, only an approximation*




*Clearly if anyone is remotely near this level, they are GOOD, I'm not trying to belittle any of their achievements.

It should probably be stressed that the difference in skill between Koreans and any other region is not even remotely comparable. They have the highest density of skilled players anywhere and most of them are better then everyone else.

LOL that's a bit unnecessary :P You're right in that the difference is minimised though, since there's no major benefit to playing at LAN in terms of ping like there was with CS.

Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who has applied, we've had a great response. I haven't had time to reply to everyone however rest assured we are reviewing each and every candidate and are currently processing through our own internal procedures in order to select candidates - everyone will be responded to.


Update #2 - Starcraft 2 Shoutcasters

The next phase in our roll-out for Starcraft 2 are Shoutcasters. We are looking for 2-3 individuals that will be available to cover our star players - primarily "live" however as a secondary via demo. Below I have detailed some of the requirements and bonuses along with what you can expect in return.

Requirements & Bonuses

• Shoutcasting experience with Starcraft 2.
• Live Stream on TwitchTV or Own3D. (Partnerships a Bonus).
• A community spirit and keen interest in Starcraft 2.
• Flexibility across genre's - prior experience with MOBA and FPS titles. (Bonus)
• Experience in front of a camera. (Bonus)
• Ability to edit video footage. (Bonus)

Benefits

• Full complement of SteelSeries peripherals.
• PC & Hardware incentives.
• Financial & Travel incentives will be opened for long serving dedicated members.

When applying:

• Include some samples of your work (Twitch/Own3D, YouTube etc)
• The hours you would be able to commit to the endeavor.
• List your defining qualities.
• List any areas in which you've been active within the community.
• Include any existing affiliates you currently have. Whilst we aren't seeking exclusivity at this point, it might be something we would look to in the future.
• Anything else you might feel is relevant.
