*sigh* Why must all the best drama happen when I have limited or no internet T_T.
Would anyone care to elaborate, if not I'll just watch the 5 hour SOTG.
IIRC NaNiWa essentially threw a losers' bracket game against Nestea that didn't mean anything towards results (though there might have been a prize difference) and the SC2 eSports community is outraged, though I haven't been in the scene enough to know the significance.

Bronze League reppin'.
It was the Blizzard cup group stages, and it was the last match, Naniwa vs NesTea. Naniwa was out of the tourney no matter what and just probe rushed and lost.
I don't blame GOM for such a harsh stance.
When it's their tournament and in their country, its up to the players to respect the culture and the small nuisances of it.
Although I believe a bit harsh, I can understand why they would do such a thing.
New PlayXP interview with Blizzard Cup players in the Ro6:
>Q. How do you feel about Naniwa not being able to participate in the upcoming GSL season?
>MC: He did not deserve it. Code S is for the best progamers in the world. I do not see Naniwa as a progamer. I see him as a little boy.
>Leenock: To be honest, I don't think Naniwa is that strong. If the players in Code S watched his replays, he wouldn't win a game.
>Polt: Naniwa is a strange guy. I hope he qualifies for Code A like any other player next season.
>MVP: I feel Naniwa is a strong player, but with a very weak mind. He reminds me off a soft egg.
>Q. How do you feel about Idra and Sen getting invitational spots into Code S next season?
>MC: What did they do to deserve the honor to play in Code S? Because they aren't Korean? I promise to thumbs them down back where they belong.
>Leenock: I think they're both good players. I look forward to fighting them.
>Polt: I qualified for the Round of Six in the Blizzard Cup, but I don't get invited to Code S freely because I am not a foreigner? I think it's a ploy to get more money, honestly.
And that is why I very much dislike Koreans for the most part (and well, most other businesses now...).
Rip everyone off as much as possible, and sit back and enjoy the profits.
Even the comments they make are ridiculous...
MC is a little (chubby) boy who "disrespects" his opponents out of game with his stupid throat cutting, thumbs downing motions, etc. If anything that's more stupid than probe rushing.
Leenock calling NaNiwa bad, is basically him calling every single person that didn't do as well as him bad (falls down the chain..).
Mvp just seems butthurt that he was bested by someone playing a harder race.
As for the IdrA/SEn scenario, I feel SEn deserves the spot, but IdrA should have to work his way through.
MC.. Straight away goes for the racial remarks of "they're not Korean"... Wouldn't have anything to do with SKILL would it?... What an idiot.
Leenock... Finally, a smart response.
Polt... LOL YOU'RE AN IDIOT. When Koreans realise that GSL isn't the holy of holies, and that there's other bigger events (MLG, NASL, IPL, etc..), and that winning those tournaments means they're also good, then they will hopefully shut up.
Mvp.. Good, go die, being a butthurt girl wont change what is happening.
All in all, Koreans are sitting on a high horse thinking they're superior to everyone.
Ugh...as I feared, its pointless to try to push this topic into the topic it should be which is about what the title is, "State of the Game". Well goodbye this thread until the dumbasses stop arguing pointlessly.

So much contradiction and hypocrisy in this post.
Its disgusting really.

Well MC is trolling I think. MvP responses are just him showing disappointment in the Naniwa and the GSL, nothing wrong there. Leenock says both sen and idra are good and that naniwa is very predictable and easy to counter, which makes perfect sense after their series at providence.
Polt is just annoyed that even though he's doing well in the Blizzard cup he doesn't get a free spot, when these foreigners do, for doing similar in other tournaments. You're taking what theyre saying in the worst light and then some.
Who cares if MC is "trolling". He's still an ar$ehole.
Mvp can think what he wants, a game that means nothing is entirely irrelevant.
Calling a "Protoss" easy to counter is absurd. There's only 1 way every 99% of Protoss play, and there's a good reason behind that.
Polt being a girl about it just makes him look like an idiot. People have earned their place in GSL games.

You don't have to swear at people to make your point.
Everyone getting mad at that comments in the playxp article, you realise none of them are even referring to his probe rush incident right? They're commenting on his skill as a player.

MC is being who he is, if you have a problem with that you shouldn't be talking about that here.
Yes, he can think what he wants? that's what people do in interviews, they talk about the question. No reason to hate on him.
Did you watch the Providence final? Naniwa went nexus first on xel'naga after getting roach rushed. Like really? Leenock is like 5-1 vs Naniwa he has every right to call him bad just as much as (if not a whole lot more) naniwa can to nestea. I mean theres a reason why people don't blind nexus first every game vs zerg.
Polt is saying if they deserve it so do I. Which I kind of agree with. Sure I love having IdrA and Sen in GSL but when a competitor who has done well in GSL tournaments (Don't even try to argue that GSL is not the biggest tournament ATM, don't even try) doesn't get a spot when 2 players who have had similar performances in WORSE tournaments get spots why wouldn't he have a problem with that? Sure he could just suck it up BUT HES BEING ASKED ABOUT IT, of course hes gonna give his opinion.
If anything Puma deserves the spot but they're not giving it to him, he has better performances then both IdrA (arguably) and Sen (definitely). Why aren't they giving it to him? because hes Korean and should just qualify like everyone else. Fact is, GOM wants foreign viewership and the Korean players are mad about it.
Really, his decision to not play won't make me think any different of him. He's still a very solid foreign player.
I think GOM's decision was a justified one. I'm disappointed that they didn't actually use this as an opportunity to say "OK, after a year of SC2 we don't have everything covered in our rules and some of it is at our discretion. But now that this has happened, we are defining a rule that... etc". They left this grey area grey which isn't cool. In saying that, the guys on SotG brought up a match (was it an IPL game?) where someone was running late and got penalised a game for it, so his opponent threw the next game to even it up - it makes it a bit tough to set a particular rule without eliminating the possibility of this sort of sportsmanship happening.
The polarity of views seems to be on one side, people who think GOM did fine and that Naniwa should take it on the chin and just qualify himself, and those who get absolutely infuriated because it was all GOM's fault. Mostly disappointed in this kind of reaction, more than the whole ordeal itself.
I did crack up at iNcontrol's shenanigans, enjoyed the addition of Mia Rose to the panel (even though everyone was too wasted to make it more interesting) and still don't know how upset Artosis really was after the 2v2 game

They need to realise that playing through Code A qualifiers, then going through up and down matches isn't the only way to get into Code S, that you can win other tournaments (that Koreans already attend anyway), and qualify... Idiots...
EDIT: Not the best example, but take IPL for instance. There's certain qualifiers prior to the main event, and an entire open bracket system where the non-invited players, or the ones who didn't qualify online have to play through.
Yes people can qualify in other ways doesn't change how deserving they are though. You're like blatantly trying to attack the Koreans, then when people try and explain what they're saying you attack them instead. Tell me why isn't puma in code s, you explain to me why and until then the Koreans are right.

Sure. They just need to spend a few thousand dollars for the plane ticket to Europe/USA as well as food & accommodation there, and heck, all this just to enter a competition that they may or may not win. Surely if they want it that badly, what's a measly $3000++, aye?
