Tonight was the WCG Australia Launch event at Parramatta, Sydney.

Being the awesome nerd that I am, I dragged along my nerd hero partner Steve to check it out and take some video for all you nerds who are busy stuck to your chairs glaring at that 'Find Match' button, gathering courage to press it. FXOtgun also made an appearance to flaunt his nerd skills, and brought some of his friends along.

WCG Event Details

WCG is also Running Starcraft 2, Warcraft 3 and Counter Strike 1.6 in this years WCG event. Due to the nature of it being a launch event tonight, it was more an entertainment event than a hardcore Qualifier and thus the console games were the only games that were played. Qualifiers for The rest of the games will be

June: Brisbane
July: Sydney
September: Melbourne

And the National finals will be in October at the Gold Coast

4 players from each game qualified tonight, including FXOtgun's friend whom qualified for Fifa 2011. No details were found out with regards to SC2 qualifiers, details may be released closer to the qualification dates.

The event was a good night out, its definitely fun watching some players from different games compete, but you could tell none of the Tekken or Fifa players are as dedicated as us SC2 nerds are

Can I ask where to find WCG information? I've been looking around the net but failed miserably to find anything relating to Australia. where'd u find out about this? the wcg australia website makes me want to cry.
