This event marks the first of several upcoming events and the organizers are hoping we can pull enough crowds to increase the chances of bringing the finals to Australian shores next year. Round one is taking place from 4:30pm Saturday April 30 at Parramatta Riverside. So get out there and support our local Industry! Entry is FREE and competition entrants can simply register on site from kick off.
I couldn't find the site at which we're supposed to register. They say "from kick off", so maybe you just turn up and register then. I would be grateful for any further information people have on this.
I will probably go along to the Parramatta round this Saturday to check it out (and maybe even play if I can work out how to register). It also looks like "Sydney" will get another shot at qualifications in July.
Who else is thinking of coming along this weekend? At the very least, I expect you Sydney TA boys to show.
PS. GO TARay!

Hi Tom.
From certain websites I've googled, they say that the competition is goign to be held at Parramatta Riverside which is down Church Street (I think that's the name of the street). It's basically near all the fancy restaurants at Parramatta ^^
Would be nice also to know something about the maps and tournament format beforehand, but I suspect thats a bit of a luxury so far as big Australian SC2 tournaments go.
Smells like fail. Hope for the sake of AU SC2 it does OK though.
Seems like as usual they are focussing on hype and putting on a show without actually building that hype (announcing like a week out, and on a couple minor websites?) or securing attendance from the people in the scene who need to be there.
As for me, I might wait until the Sydney event.

Hey guys, I've updated my post with details on tomorrow's event. It will offer qualifiers for Tekken 6 and FIFA only, I have been told there will be other games, prizes and giveaways on offer but the general theme of the event is 'launching to the public'. Dates and locations on SC2 qualifiers are forthcoming...
BordZ: All WCG qualifiers from memory (going back to 2001) have been open to spectators, this Parramatta event will be more of a spectacle to the public than anything tournament related.
Even the smallest donations help keep sc2sea running! All donations go towards helping our site run including our monthly server hosting fees and sc2sea sponsored community tournaments we host. Find out more here.
