Hey Guys,

I'm one of the founders of SASL (South Australian Starcraft League) for those of you who i havent met yet..

Anyway.. introductions aside, ive been trying to get a community showmatch between SASL and University of Queensland Starcraft Society (UQSS)...

Now, they have an insane number of really really good players but I wanted to create a balanced showmatch which consists of 5 players/side

Since SASL is a lot smaller than UQSS, I was thinking of having a limit of 2 Grandmaster level players and 3 Masters level players...

In a nutshell.. im here looking for advice and wanting some direction regarding:

- Format - i was thinking something like GSTL)

- Team Selection - I enjoy organizing matches but am not the most knowledgeable about the higher level people in SEA. i will post who is in our team and if anyone from UQSS could do the same and i will leave this thread here for open comment..

i just want to create an awesome showmatch between the two communities and i believe that the more balanced it is, the better the games are going to be and the content will be fantastic..

Probably is wrong place to ask, but to any UQSS people, is it open to anyone studying around brissy? Cool idea though

This sounds really good, im also not too familiar with the SEA scene so should be able to see some names to remember. Also as this is a showmatch, will you be following this series up with anything?
Also if you have already decided please list:
Bo* (best of X)
Maps to be played
edit; UQSS seems really specific, why not broaden your target?

hey Jtx, thanks for your input.. but the only reason we have UQSS is because we want it to be a community vs community..

Also, this is the first time we are doing something like this.. if there are any other communities out there that reads this thread.. we want to network with as many communities as we can.. who knows.. possibly a tournament which includes pitting multiple communities against each other!

An idea ive come up with and spoken to with UQSS prez

Could do a series of 3 showmatches... All aggregated.. option of having a different player each match..

What I just posted on FB:

Have a couple of BO3's, maybe spread them across league (i.e. 2x bronze, 2x silvers etc.)

Then spread point values across those maches (i.e. bronze games worth .5, silvers worth .5 etc, maybe go up to GM worth 3, try to get so that each match it actually worth it).

I'll leave the maths to you.
