Today i have noticed that i am dropping alot more frames in xsplit then what i would usually.???!?!?

cause the stream to lag and produce bad quality.

is anyone having this issue of is everyone having this issue??

i noticed they mentioned they were having issues on the site but im not sure if they relate to stream or jsut hte site in general?

Try dropping your video upload setting in xsplit down. Lost frames usually means your upload speed isn't high enough to stream at yout current settings

It might be ISP-related though.

I don't know what your upspeed is, but I think the general rule is to have minimum 600kbps+ ping to LA

For Australians, it is faiyl common not to get that speed (I just manage)

run a speedtest to LA and check what the result is. 10Mbit up is unlikely, unless you're on fibre

Your plan doesn't mean anything - Telstra might tell you the theoretical max download speed is 30Mbps (which is only possible for Sydney and Melb), but you won't see that.


EDIT: Ah there we go. And that was definitely a test to LA right - not Brisbane?

If yes, we can probably rule out speed, and look at Xsplit settings

There you go, generally you want to have your Xsplit combined rate by about 200kbps below your maximum.

So try to set both the Audio Bitrate and the Video Bitrate combined to approx 900Kbps

Actually this was happening to me the other night 0.O it was really weird. I went and started broadcasting and then it was encoding just dropping frames....

Why would you negrep for this?

For your information, the way I browse the forums, I will open multiple threads in different tabs. Then go through them all one at a time. Often, I'll hit reply, then move on to the next page while it loads. Also, GSL was on at the time, so attention was divided.

A disagreement in chatbox is no reason to try to derail a thread/negrep someone on an unrelated matter

Venom, I think System is on the money with the up bandwidth, and you might even want to come down from that if you're on skype (I think Skype is like most VoIP services needing about ~128kbps for decent quality, more if you're including webcams

Also, who knows, maybe it was just a bad day for the connection, and today it's all good. If it's still bad, try resetting your router, or flushing your DNS cache (you can google flush DNS for instructions, or post back here and I'll give you some)
