New OSC Supporter Package



The OSC team are looking for support from our friends in the Starcraft community. Since it's inception, the Oseanic Championship Series in conjunction with our partners has seen the SEA tournament scene develop at a rapid rate, particularly in 2014 where we saw tournaments at 100% growth (155 for the year)!

We are running SEA dedication bonus ($700 + lan sponsorship), paid content writing position ($500+), OSC World Finals ($5000+), special tournaments, (such as $1400 Global All Stars), as well as supporting our regular tournaments Masters Cups, Rising Star, SeaCraft Melee, etc. We have improved graphics ($'s), bigger prizepools, and we don't want to stop there.

It's a lot of work, and has come to the stage where it needs dedicated time daily (OSC updates, admin tasks, communication with players, sponsors, etc). Furthermore a lot of the $'s come from the same few individuals. It's not really sustainable long term. I personally have probably invested more than is financially responsible over the last couple of months. This isn't a money grab idea, OSC is becoming a huge amount of work! To keep growing, we need to create a sustainable ecosystem, that doesn't rely as heavily on a few.

To address these issues, the idea is with a small OSC Subscriber contribution you can show your support to our scene at just $2.50 per week! One less chocolate bar/One less beer at the pub/a couple less songs on iTunes, etc, and the money goes towards supporting the scene It's quite common place for players/casters to have a subscription option on twitch tv (which isn't an option for us), and we feel we have much more to give back in terms of entertainment, competition and rewards. Subscribers are also another way we can potentially market ourselves to prospective sponsors, which in turn will result in further growth.

When you subscribe let me know which race you'd prefer coaching for. Then all the subscribers will be divided up by race, and randomly drawn to give away the monthly coaching. So if you're a zerg, you'll get a zerg coach.

Achievement graphic thats to the left of posts.. Like when you buy Diablo from SC2SEA etc.
And get together with some teams like fray, x5 etc etc to get some sponsor product to give away from time to time. Maybe even ACL can hook up a hoodie or something to give away?

Also might be worth having a lump sum option for all this stuff too?.. Some people have inconsistent finances and aren't always super keen on subbing and signing up for something, ya nam?.. But sometimes they might have a spare fiddy or two they can chuck the sick nerd ballers at OSC.

Well if it's easier for some people, i guess you can buy months in advance. If that's what people want to do. It's not really the direction i wanted to go with this, not a quick money idea, wanted more of a reward/time based system, but i guess we end up at the same place either way. There is also an of issue of skipping ahead of others. But if you want, donation will be easiest process, so can set your own amounts (in increments of $10)

Remember though, that avatar pictures, and other bonuses are part of an ongoing reward system while subscribing. Once you stop/donation total ends, you revert back to standard forum icons.

And don't think $40 straight up and get a sick avatar for good. It's $10 sub to maintain afterwards, and build towards other benefits. So $40 would equal one month of avatar, 4 monthly tries at coaching, and special subscriber user name for 2 months.

So i guess it's for people who can't wait, and want it right now. Doing it this way is a lot trickier and time consuming to work out. (Might set it up if you've been a sub for 12 months, you can keep the avatar if discontinue, as that is a very generous amount of time.)
