As promised here is my first write up for the first match of FaDe A vs BtD. I do this as I really love to write so if you guys have any tips to improve or add on to the recaps, please don't hesitate to tell me as I would really appreciate it . I'm also not sure if this is in the right thread but if it isnt, please move it or tell me where I can create a thread for this. Here goes!
Fade A is currently ranked 3rd on the standings with 2 wins and 0 losses. BtD on the other hand are currently in the 7th position with 1 win and 1 loss. Nonetheless, statistics dont count when its just the start of the season!
FaDe A's previous match was against TA where they won 4-2 thanks to the efforts of Ricochet(Z) winning 3 games in a row followed by ZeroAbsolute(P) taking it home for the team with a nailbiting finish. BtD's first loss of the season was against KA where the double terran Menace: Falcon(T) andAeon(T) showed them the righteous ways of Emperor Mengsk. It ended in KA's favour 4-2.
Will FaDe A extend their winning streak to 3 wins in a row or will BtD redeem themselves after a crushing defeat? btw fade a fighting. /bias
Rezyn spawns at the 8 oclock position while Beacon spawns at the 2oclock position. Cross spawns. Rezyn opens up with a variation of 3 rax into reactored Medivacs. Beacon on the other hand opens up with 3 gate robo into expand. Rezyn goes for early double octo drop. Beacon spots the drop and immediately repels it putting himself in a huge economic lead as the expansion completes. Rezyn on the other hand fortifies his expansion with tanks and 3 bunkers.
Pull out before shit happens. Sixth Sense.
Mid game: Both players get supply blocked for quite some time and thus halting any kind of agression from both sides. Rezyn continues to mass up Marine Marauder and tanks while securing a ninja expansion on the bottom corner. DT tech for beacon as he notices the lack of missile turrets in rezyn's base with his observers. Rezyn attacks his own units with siege tanks thanks to a misclick. DTs run in at the same time Rezyn shells his own units.
'There is a dt amongst us. START SHELLING OUR TROOPS!' - Marine
'lolwut?' - DT walks by
Not much permanent econ damage done to Rezyn as he uses 2 scans to clear the dts. First huge engagement goes to Beacon as Rezyn's raven got sniped and the DTs were left undetected. Huge loss to Rezyn but Beacon oddly falls back instead of capitalizing after winning that decisive battle.
as day9 says 'sometimes, the best counter is to just go ******* kill him!'
Beacon continues to macro up to 4 bases and oddly enough discovers Rezyn's ninja 3rd base. Unfortunately Rezyn has been mining from that for quite some time.
I have to admit, that CC looks so f'ing cool.
Huge mistake by beacon. He accidentally splits his army into 2 and the other half at the xelnaga tower gets obliterated by 2-2 marines and marauders. Beacon's high probe count from 4 bases hurt his army supply as rezyn's m&m squad easily eliminates a divided force of toss units.
Ouch.
Rezyn smells weakness and goes in for the kill. Beacon GGs, Mengsk's forces prevail once again. FaDe A goes up 1-0 to BtD. Next challenger incoming!
Nui's Honest opinions:
- Beacon had that game in the bag after the first drop failed and was in a commading economical lead.
- Macro wise from both sides need improvement as theres constant supply blocking
- 1 turret and 1 bunker at the front of ur natural will help to deter frontal DT assaults (sounds kinky) and the occasional blind observer rally points in lower leagues
- The raven snipe was huge and Beacon wouldve won if he waited for 1 or 2 warp cycles and attacked after winning the first engagement
- Rezyn needed more drops as a toss unprovoked will have a deathball of doom
- Beacon won the game until he split his army in half, thats what the terran wants you to do so he can avoid fighting a deathball
Ollie spawns in the 10 oclock position while rezyn spawns in the 1 oclock position on shakuras plateau. Ollie opens with a normal 15 hatch 14 pool, Rezyn chooses to go for a delayed 2 rax bunker rush. Scv building the bunker gets sniped and lings pop out, deterring the 2 rax bunker push with ease.
Rezyn adds 5 more raxes and 2 gas geysers giving ollie ample time to drone up freely. Rezyn still has not expanded despite being aware of Ollie's hatch first.
Rezyn tries to feint agression but ollie already has banelings on the field preparing for a high econ baneling bust. Rezyn loses his small task force of marines, putting him in an even bigger disadvantage army and econ wise. Rezyn is still on 1 base so Ollie easily recuperates his losses through his 2 base econ advantage.
simple feigning pressure, go to tower, kill zerglings. go back home. zerg builds 10 lings instead of drones for an attack that never comes. Profit.
if only they are marine king's marines.
Ollie goes in for the bane bust but rezyn wisely builds bunkers to buffer the damage. No other damage done except killing 1 supply depot and bringing the barracks to 50% HP. Ollie wisely backs off and remacros.
Rezyn is afraid to go out and thus puts no pressure on Ollie. Ollie drones up and prepares for a massive push off 3 bases.

Ollie easily breaks the 3 barracks wall and zerglings rush in for the kill. Rezyn GGs! BtD ties it up 1-1!
Nui's Honest Opinions:
- Rezyn had the right idea of punishing hatch first but it is essential to follow build orders and know exactly when to push out for a 2 rax bunker push or else lings will pop out before u can do anything
- Shakuras is a rather debatable map for 2 rax pressure due to its distance so I was expecting reactored hellion into expo into marine tank for this match
- Ollie played very well despite being supply blocked a couple of times
- Rezyn had to keep up with the zerg's economy or else he will drone drone drone. No pressure was put and rezyn expanded very late in the game, at that point, Ollie already had 3 saturated bases so he could throw wave after wave of banelings and lings
- To all BSG terrans, do not be afraid to take expos in TvZ. As long as u can keep up with the zerg economy while feigning pressure, dropping and harassing him, you already won half of the battle. If you feignt pressure and harass his workers, you only have to win 1 huge battle against a zerg with low economy instead of having to fight 3 or 4 battles against a zerg with a powerful economy.
