Week 9: MLG Tal'Darim Altar

Format & Maps

Tournament begins Thursday 6th October.

The default play night is going to be Thursday nights @ 8pm AEDT (go by the SC2sea Australian clock) but teams have until the following Wednesday to play their match if they can't make the default night. It's up to team managers to get in touch with each other if they can't make the default night and then inform an admin of their newly scheduled match. You will only have a chance to have your game casted if you arrive to play on Thursday.

Each round is Best of 7 GSTL all-kill style. Results to be reported to whatever admins are online. Please have the team captain report the result of each round at the end of play. Please also have both captains save replays and send them to the admins at the end of round (to avoid anyone trying to report false results, and in case of any claims of smurfs). If you are making the game for the players and not an admin, please ensure that you are using the MLG version of all maps. Simply create custom game, then type "MLG" in the search box and they should all be there.

After the round robin stage, there will be playoffs held over 3 weeks for the top 4 teams. Playoff games will be Best of 9. Format as follows;

Game A : Rank 1 vs. Rank 2
Game B : Rank 3 vs. Rank 4
Game C (week 2) : Loser of A vs. Winner of B
Game D (week 3) : Winner of A vs. Winner of C

Might need to post pone the game on this Thursday with VB.. Myself and a few of the players will be unavailable (its my GF's birthday.. soo.. :S) I guess I should organise something with Potthead about another time for the game...?

- Also, probably good to clarify with everyone about the 8pm AEST as most of Australia has just started Daylight savings time... ;-)

If you just went on to Daylight Savings time that means that WA and singapore will start at 5pm? the equivalent of the 8pm?

I am led to believe that, yes.. The clock on this site seems to be correct.. the middle one at the top right of the page shows the correct time here.. so you can always follow that..
but just thought it would be good to remind people.. so they don't turn up 1 hr late.. :P or to check if the 8pm time is AEST (like in Queensland) not the daylight savings time everyone else in NSW and most of Aus get to enjoy..

They said that they wanted to enter the team, and was assured that players would be given today. They got the benefit of the doubt at the moment cause I wanted to make brackets ASAP for everyone. If they can't make a second team then the brackets will be revised.

Yes. As I'm under the impression QLD has no daylight savings, you would start 7pm.

The time quoted in the OP is based on the Australian clock on the website, when that puppy hits 8pm on Thursday night, it's game on.

I worked out the thursday time for the following timezones.

Thursday 8pm AEST ; 10pm NZ ; 7pm Brisbane ; 7.30pm Adelaide ; 5.00pm West Australia

Potthead won't be here, his going on holiday so i'll be managing for the first 2 weeks. I'll PM you and work out the details. Thursday is going to be a bad night for us as most of us work

Just keep in mind you guys need to play your match up before the end of Wednesday next week and let an admin know when you have confirmed a time so that we can supervise.

It's round robin groups. Not a Knockout Tournament.. Until the Playoffs

No you're not right in saying that haha

It's round robin so every team plays every other team and the teams with the most wins / losses are the ones that take the top of the table.

I have a question about the maps? Who/what decides on the first map of the series? Maybe i'm just too tired to read correctly but i cant see it anywhere :s

I imagine it's probably Xel'Naga Caverns first and then loser picks from then on. Could be wrong though.

Pls take out scrap station and delta quadrant... maps that arent ladder, maps that arent used in any tournaments anywhere around the world... you dont need that many maps for map pool anyway ><
