I was never really a fan of RTS games before - seeing as most seemed to involve no strategy and just about getting more units. I could never see the strategy in them and still don't in most RTS games.
But then I stumbled across some casted games from the beta of sc2 and was intrigued.
After some time passed bored and a friend with a guest pass led me to download sc2 and give it a try and I enjoyed it enough to buy it.
Now since then I have had technical problems not to mention my qualms with the single player and of course the games architecture and I have been fairly outspoken about blizzard basically stuffing all those things up. I have raged at my inability to do what is needed to defending simple to execute plays or really raged after 20 minutes of outplaying and outmaneuvering an opponent - having the game in the bag - only to lose from one mistake.
Many a time I feel that I hate this game and I'm wasting my time and yet I keep coming back for more punishment, to the detriment of my blood pressure perhaps. Many people may have heard, or read, my rage induced rants and wonder "then why are you still here?"
In the year that I have fought with bad net code, buggy patches, stupidly picking the hardest race to play despite having no RTS experience I have gone from a bronze "10 drones are enough" player to Diamond ladder zombie staying up till 5am some nights playing. I have become a clan leader, a caster, video creator and a part of the most awesome gaming community.
And that really is what keeps me here through all the rage and blizzard's questionable decisions (clan support?)
Despite some people, the community here is something truly great and despite being a terrible diamond player I get the chance to occasionally chat or even cast with the pros all thanks to sc2sea.
The community drives me, it sustains me and maybe, just maybe... one day I will together with all those players I look up to. Or perhaps even ahead of them :P (I'm gunning for you glade, PiG )
So as a little tribute I have been working on a little something for Nirvana and hope you like it. (wish I could of made it better but i'm still so noob)
