While primarily a casual clan, we do have a competitive streak.
VB_HpK took out 1st place in the BSG Open #21 earning a coaching session from a high level player. On his way to the win he took out RiNc in round 2 after a bye in round 1. The quarter finals saw him take out PraiseB and he calmly strolled through team-mate WhiplashJC in the semis, netting himself a second place finish at worst. Coming up against a solid player, minimat, in the finals, HpK lost the first game but responded after a simple word "relax" from Whiplash to defeat minimat in the next 2 games and take the BSG victory 2-1! VB_Rhuubarb finished top of the Main Bracket in the SEA Community Ladder, also earning himself a coaching session. Finishing with just 2 losses for the season, he went in to the play-off bracket seeded 5, first behind the Masters Bracket players. Taking out TCPfrogmite 2-0 in the first round he went on to play master bracket player Petraeus. Rhuubarb took game 1 and had a 1-0 lead, but Petraeus was too good in the end and took the series 2-1. However, Rhuubarb became the only non-Masters Bracket player to take a game off any of the Master Bracket participants through the play-offs, a good achievement in itself! Final Bracket
VB_Everion won the North American server Bronze-Platinum Playhem Open, grabbing 150 playhem points for his troubles. In a short 3 round tourney, Ever defeated Ltac, Effeckted and edrew, dropping just a single game vs Effeckted on his way to the win. Final Bracket
VB_Bandit went on a tear throughout the North American server recently, grabbing 3 BSG Playhem Open victories and a second place in a week. Unfortunately only 2 of the links to brackets were retrieved, but the 3 win will remain in our heads as well! Firstly he won without saving the bracket link, then ripped through Zhais, starlightknight, randobob, r3_heatstroke and sc2bigb without dropping a game to take his 2nd win in a couple days. Next, WildKard, Dek, DrGrnThumbLXG and JugJug got a taste of the Bandit train and with only JugJug stealing a single victory in the Bo5 finals, Bandit went express to the number 1 position once again earning a tidy amount of Playhem points. VB_Stokez took home VB's first(as far as I know) cash prize victory, earning himself the victory and $25 in the BSG Cup #2 on April 1st. On April Fool's Day he left everyone else looking silly, tearing through his side of the 16-man bracket towards the finals. Earning a wildcard from his dedication to the BSG Weekly tournaments, Stokez showed everyone he deserved it by taking wins against Malice, Saranghae and Suipr to reach the final against a veteran BSG Weekly participant, deadpixel.
A shaky 4gate on Tal'darim earned Stokez the game 1 victory, getting out of the blocks strongly.
Game 2 on Antiga started out with another 4gate, though 3gates were proxied. deadpixel scouted the gates, and with his plan thwarted, went home to macro from behind. deadpixel moved in later with a large MM ball with some medivacs and tore through the natural of Stokez while dropping the main to take game 2 rather convincingly.
Game 3 was a case of deja vu, as the same MM ball with medivacs on Entombed Valley ripped through
Stokez to give deadpixel the 2-1 lead and just a game away from the $25 prize.
Game 4 was on Bel'shir beach and deadpixel had no thoughts of making it a macro game. His 1 base tank, marine, medivac push came strolling across the map with the taste of blood on their tongues, wanting to win the game for their leader. However, Stokez had different ideas and repelled the attack calmly and efficiently with his gateway/immortal army. He then returned the favour to deadpixel, charging his units across the map in to the newly taken natural of deadpixel, steamrolling the few remaining units and earning a victory to keep him alive in the series.
The 5th and final game was do or die for both players, who would go home with the $25 prize? Loading up on Terminus, deadpixel opened up with a build to secure a fast natural, while Stokez geared up for a blink all in. Thinks looked bad for pixel when he chucked down a 3rd base, and when Stokez blinked straight to the main, the damage to the scv line was larged. deadpixel fought valiantly, but the constant reinforcement stalkers and awesome blink micro from Stokez proved too much in the end and Stokez earned the gg and the 3-2 win to take home a well earned $25!
