I was looking around my area to see if I could find any SC2 groups etc and I happened to find a place and they are hosting a SC2 tourney for charity (winner gets half the pot, other half goes to human society). From what I understand it is going to be a pretty small tourney and also that there will be several people there that are in much higher league than I and since it's going to be so small, will not be dividing up into different brackets. I realize I will not win, but I want to approach it as if I have every chance, and I will do my best. I'm currently a Silver Terran (almost gold based on the mostly gold opponents that I have been playing) In order to best approach this event, I have a few questions.
1) How should I approach it regarding training
2) Should I even participate considering I about a snowballs chance on the sun of winning
3) Any specific tips?
Also, as a side note, it feels like I have made several requests of the community lately (you guys are great!!!) and I would to be more of a participant than someone who randomly asks questions. I want to give back as well for all the help I have received. If anyone has any suggestions on how I could do that as well? (haha says the 25 year old with a 3yrs old vocabulary mostly consisting of "why") :P Thanks in advance!!
If you want I could help me with your terran just add me in game SEA server lolwut.901 and I can help you with your terran .
I think you should also train more in customs leading up to it because in those you can focus on making your worse matchups better and practicing specific builds.

1) Pick one or two basic builds for each matchup, and focus on executing. Don't try something you've never done before or you will lose and be forced to change your id to breadfan
2) Yes
3) GMs are still restricted by the laws of the game. Don't think that just because your opponent is a way higher league, he always has an enormous army. In saying that, people in higher leagues will probably have better multitask, so I wouldn't suggest trying to do a lot of multipronged attacks - harrass the edges and otherwise, make good engagements. Don't measure your success by whether you win or lose, but by whether or not you actually follow through with a plan. Then use the opportunity to look into how you could have executed it better in the post-game.

I'd love to do some, however I don't have a sea account yet
