Hi, First and foremost Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all Starcraft 2 SEA and All servers.

I have this bit of a problem and it always irritates me when I play and would like to ask if also happens to some players and how players solve the problem.

Okay first of all my computer specs is good enough to run Starcraft 2 on Ultra Extreme settings, but I choose to run it on Medium settings.

Computer Specs are as follows:
Q6600 Quad Core Intel
4GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5850
1.5 TB Hard drive space.
All drivers are up to date
Running on Windows 7 Professional 32bit

Below is a typical scenario of the problem:

Whenever I start a game, there is lag for a few seconds (game time) where in I could not select my workers or split my workers. I can freely select my scv's at like 8 sec game time. The screen sort of freezes for 1 second then bounces like a fast forward motion. This really annoys me.

Another thing is at the middle of the game for example I am building a barracks, I press "B" "B" in my hotkeys. The worker builds the barracks but upon placement of the said building in the ground, my screen freezes for 1 second, maybe fps freeze then bounces like a fast forward motion again.

Another example is when there is something like a skirmish battle between zerg ling banes / muta, obviously terran should stutter micro split marines, the screen freezes for 1 second causing unable to have proper unit control and thus whole army dies.

Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't.

I already edited my variables.txt with frameratecap=60 and frameratecapglue=30.
I searched teamliquid for a solution but unfortunately I can't seem to find one.
I would like to ask here as well with whatever there is that can help solve this kind of stutter problem.
I would also like to ask in the high level of play, does this normally happen as well?

Normally I watch some streams of korean players and they don't seem to have this kind of problem.
I know I have a stable DSL connection.

I have had similar problems, I run on Medium as well. I think it's a network problem and not a framerate problem, though. Fraps was saying the game was running at a healthy 80fps the whole time that I'm lagging, which leads me to believe it's the network...strange stuff.

I will check my fraps later and keep it posted here...I will also check my network, but I'm pretty sure I got a good stable internet DSL line.

The thing is I hate the pauses and then it releases like a fast foward and 10 seconds of game time already occurred....

I had this, and where it has 'run for best performance' in regards to like desktop layout, text type, borders and all that I unticked them all and it soon worked. Dunno o_o

I have the same problem as you but not as extreme. In my case, I lag for a few seconds at the beginning of the game and the "fast forward motion" occurs. I would suggest trying to set all your graphics to Low, and see whether this solves the problem. Lag could also be a result of shaky internet connection. No doubt that your computer is good enough but internet or the high graphics level could be the problem.

I play on an iMac, and it can only support Medium graphics at most, but I set it on Low so it ran smoothly. My internet is not that good either, so I have some lag. It's very minor for me, but seems serious for you. Hopefully you can get this fixed.

Try updating your graphic drivers. Also check your ram.

My graphic drivers are up to date nonetheless, I have an RSS Feed giving me updated driver notification haha.... Forgive me for being noob, but how do I check my RAM? what should I check in it. I kinda got it installed and did nothing to optimize or tinker it.
