Picking picking races for newbs.
Is there any guide out there that is good enough to show us what race are we good at ?
And also give us the race that suits us the best ?
No offence but if you can't figure out what race you like to play then this game probably won't be for you.
Try random and then choose the race you like the most
Play Zerg skekresha zzzbvdsusha alsshsasrhiss ssssssssshaa
Play Terran if you wanna auto-win
In all seriousness, why do people insist on asking for tips on picking a race when you can just go try everything in a custom game? =/
@Ricochet,
I don't think any of what you say would make sense to a new player who would most likely have no concept of timing pushes and other things you mentioned.

Protoss: Dudes who are powerful, a big huge bunch of them can win you games.
Zerg: We enjoy building workers and taking bases for more minerals and gas, to produce zergy units to win
Terran: Defensive styled race with a huge selection of units and upgrades which make them overpowered and versatile.
Guys and if we just helped him alongside the trolling ?

:
That's the race where you will have the most thing to do in your base (including creep zone) and the less micro-managing your units (at lower level as Mutas and infestors need good micro). The objective is having a lot of ressources to make a lot of cheap units and throw them at your enemy.
It's also the race that need the more scouting as you need to adapt quickly to your opponent strategies as you have a lot of different quite specialized units. No such all-around units like marines and stalkers in .
Typical unit is the zergling, very good in great numbers and for harassing bases, can morph into banelings, is a general threat as they are very good at ambushing and making runbys in enemy mineral lines.
:
That's the race that has the more expensive units but overall the most powerful too.
Then you need to manage very precisely your units and cast a lot of spells (Force Fields, Gardian, Shield, Blink, Storm, feedback etc.) since the very beginning of the game.
Stalker is the typical unit who shoots Ground and Air, has a spell (blink), has a bonus vs Armored and is generally quicker than average unit. Good but expensive, you need to take care of your stalkers and army.
You maximize your strength when you have a big army
:
That's the race in-between, units that are good all-around but not as much as and not as cheap as . high level units are generally not very good except the ghost that is "Protossish", has a lot of powerful spell and is expensive.
You have a bit more work in your bases than but less than . Micro-managing your army in a whole is in-between.
As you don't have a very good "big" army comparing to and , and generally more powerful smallest squads, you will harass your opponent base by various means, the typical one being the dropship loading 8 marines, stiming and hilled by the dropship himself, quickly backstabbing the enemy and quickly fleeing when he comes back with his army.
Typical unit is the Marine, very cheap (50 minerals), very good upgrades (shield, steam, ups+, medivac), shoot Ground and Air but very fragile to specialized attacks (banelings, Fungal Groth, Colossus etc.).
From the way you phrased your question, I am going to assume you have yet to check out the race overview on Battlenet. There is a video overview on each race complete with storyline, characteristics and units.
Survivors- The terrans have learned to adapt their tactics to rapidly changing battlefield conditions in surprising ways. Terran production facilities, for example, can lift off and fly to different locations, allowing the terrans to relocate entire bases on the fly.sigh...
Build anywhere- Unlike the other races, terrans can create buildings wherever they want.tell that to the zergs
Adaptable- The terran military includes highly trained and specialized infantry units such as the rugged and reliable marines, guerrilla-fighting reapers, and the stealthy ghost infiltrators. Mixing different units allows the terrans to capably handle any situation.
You aren't really going to know what you're good at for a while, I thought I was best at Terran for ages, then Zerg became strongest and now I appear to be best as Protoss for some reason. I'm sure it'll change more as I improve.
It'll help you learn how they all work and help you out later on too. Once you get out of Bronze league you can start thinking about committing to a race (even then I wouldn't rush it).

To answer your first question (what race you are good at), we would need to know what you are good at and maybe suggest something from there.
So, for example:
How good are you with multitasking?
How good do you think you are at thinking about doing a specific sequence of things in a cycle, while at the same time doing other stuff with your army?
How good do you think you are in terms of keeping your eye on a particular unit and if you don't react exactly in time by using its ability you might lose the game because of it?
In regards to your second question (what will suit you best), I think this might relate to your style of play or maybe your long term goals once you get the hang of the race:
Do you want a very versatile race that has alot of options?
Do you see yourself having alot of harrassment options (like sending in guys around the back while doing something at the front)?
Do you prefer the idea of having this one big ass army moving in one blob and kicking butt?
If you can explain the above in more detail, I'm sure someone will be able to help you.
I still stand by my claim that this game requires a level of self analysis not existent in any game from the past few years and thus if you already feel the need to turn to guides to tell you what race you like to play then I can tell you won't last long.
This isn't a COD game and you won't get any hand holding and just like foods nobody can decide what will suit your tastes for you.
Some people above who have more patience left (try teaching elementary and see how much patience you have left :P) have given very basic ideas which will help all of zero %
You are going to need to start down the road of self analysis and improvement and decide for yourself and only real way to do that is playing each of them for a bit.
Sorry if I sound harsh but I see this kind of thread too much and its just silly. This isn't final fantasy 11 - you can change your race at any time.
The guys posted above me are thinking it too but just too nice to say it.
You need to learn to make decisions for yourself imo - just saying - random bad rep comments be damned
