I have plans over the next few weeks to incorporate an E-Store on SC2SEA, and would gladly appreciate any feedback in this thread. There are often many threads here talking about the best gaming products to buy with people wondering what is good and where to get it at the cheapest price. Basically we aim to help those people by focusing on providing a small range of the most popular and best rated products and at a slightly cheaper price, a small E-Store in essence with a handpicked selection of the best gaming products which we gamers use.
Why will it be cheaper?
I have no plans to open a retail store, and SC2SEA already gets a healthy amount of new traffic from gamers everyday. Because we don't have to pay expensive rental costs like a brick-and-mortar shop, these cost savings will be passed down to users in the form of cheaper prices. Also because we will be buying in bulk, we can get a discounted rate of the overall prices and we also get the special vendor rate not available to normal buyers. In summary, these three points end up making the product a fair bit cheaper than if you were to buy them on your own. Of course if the companies have price protect regulations we will stick to that but our prices will never be more expensive than what you can get elsewhere!
Why buy it on SC2SEA?
Apart from being cheaper, we only plan to sell products that our members have used and enjoyed. Trust is one of the key concepts behind the store as no one wants to buy an expensive product only to regret it later. Its also hard to differentiate reviews you can use because there is so much affiliate spam and advertisements on the internet you don't know which are reliable. So the reviews you end up trusting are usually those you can relate to such as friends or members of your gaming community. For e.g in this thread you can see mOOnGLaDe genuinely loves the Razer Krait mouse and so do a few others so I'm definitely putting that in the store with their comments. There will be a testimonial and rating system for each product as well as a stringent quality analysis before putting up each new item to make sure that only the best rated products are handpicked for our store.
SC2SEA is a name you can trust and in our short time we have developed a strong and loyal community of members. As we continue to expand (probably gonna have a small Diablo 3 forums) it will be based on this same set of values and we hope new members too can quickly recognise us as a name you can trust.
Lastly, I have already registered sc2sea.com as a company and everything here will go through the proper distribution channels and I will verify the suppliers are 100% legit etc if not the products will not be sold, simple as that. Everything will be by the book and legal as how all respected E-Commerce shops operate.
Tentative Product List
Misc
sc2sea T-Shirts (design contest here!)
Plan to have customised Flag, Race, Display Name, and of course the sc2sea logo
Keyboards
Razer Blackwidow
Steelseries 7G
Filco Majestouch 2 (Ninja 2) [BlackSwitces] (For now, these Filco mechanical keyboards will be for Singapore Only)
Blizzard Stuff
Starcraft 2 Digital Version (SEA)
Starcraft 2 Digital Version (KR/TW)
HOTS / Diablo 3 (Digital) Pre-Orders
Ideally I would like to keep the number of different types of gaming peripherals under 10 so I have less inventory issues for products which can't be drop shipped. e.g the Filco keyboards thats why they are only available in Singapore for the moment. Please leave your feedback here on the products you want to see, or products you will be interested in ordering, as it would really help with the bulk ordering.
For e.g "I definitely want to buy the Filco 2 mechanical keyboard" and if you're from Singapore I can place the order already and have stock, and you will be able to get it 1-2 days after payment.
It will really depend if you can ship here, and even after delivery we have pretty harsh custom duties. Stuff like HoTs will not be released here, so I will probably have to import it.
Hardware I doubt it, probably only If I cant find what I'm looking for locally.

daboo are you referring to tax in India? It will be the same as buying something from ebay / an online store and getting it shipped to you. Do you pay tax for that there? Let me know, Thanks For sc2 we will probably only deal with the digital versions of it.
My main concern is whether it'll be worth it at least for Australian users seeing as I feel the Australian online market has a fair amount of dominance already (sites such as auspcmarket, umart, MSY and even just staticice.com.au just to look up where stuff is being sold). That said, I have no idea of whether they're offering their products at cheaper/vendor prices.
Nevertheless it is indeed a good incentive
EDIT: I suppose you could argue that the accessibility of SC2SEA could be an important factor in attracting time-starved/less-technologically-inclined people who buy through the SC2SEA store instead of looking elsewhere.

Looks great, I'll definitely pick up a few t-shirts and perhaps a few other items along the way! Definitely love the idea of the accounts for different regions, that just is epic! BTW Nirv, check Skype re: testimonials :]
I'd definitely get a shirt, and probably a different server version of sc2.
For hardware and other games i think it would be be easier, and probably quicker to get locally in my case, not have to worry about shipping/waiting, but sounds like an awesome idea!
tee-shirts and the majority of the gaming peripherals will ship to the SEA and ANZ region. The only confirmed exception as of now is the Filco Keyboards because the Australian distributor does not do dropshipping. Whereas since i'm in SG i'll be able to buy in bulk local and then sell it at a better rate but only for Singaporeans.
I know we have a few members from France, Russia and India but sorry guys Will have to reconfirm and calculate if the shipping costs will be worth it but the answer for now is no.
I would definitely buy from the store if it was started up. Anything to support the community is a plus!
I do have a suggestion and I don't know... It might sound a bit stupid but it would also give people more incentive to buy from the store. Perhaps if some of the peripherals were engraved with some sort of sc2sea logo and sold as an exclusive product from the store. What do you guys think?
