Here we are, the last week of the BSGCL season 2 befor the playoffs. The map for this last week will be:

On another note i'll be looking through the game histories shortly to work out the table of winners (as in players) for the invites for BSG All-Stars Season 2.
Obviously this will be subject to change over this week + the finals but yeah, keep your eyes posted for that!

re: Clanless v ToR week 9 match

My team and I are requesting a later start on thursday (of either 9:30pm or 9:00pm with a delay for second or third players from Clanless). If you do not like this timing then Sunday (night 7pm onwards - suits us too, but Thursday 9:30pm AEDT is prefered. THANKS! XOXO

You should still be considered for the all-stars Zero regardless of your current league - as you are a legal player in Season 2 and the all-stars is based off the same season.

No, but the season started in Season 3, and the rules state that if you get promoted to Platinum you are ineligible for the all-stars even if you were Gold.

Basically this.

With the first All-Stars event, players who were promoted outside of the BSG leagues during the season / at the time of the All-Stars event were no longer eligible.

In essence, you'd find most of the All-Stars would be platinum and up if this rule were not implemented, which kinda ruins the point of "BSG" All-Stars.

If you guys want a Season 2 Steamrollers event or something (open to anyone regardless of promotions received) then i'm sure we can do something like that as well?

Hello my beautiful BSG-ers.

One more week of regular play, and the play offs next week

Season is coming to a close and here is the current finals format:

Format 1

There will be playoffs held over 3 weeks for the top 4 teams. Playoff games will be Best of 9. Format as follows;

Game A : Rank 1 vs. Rank 2
Game B : Rank 3 vs. Rank 4
Game C (week 2) : Loser of A vs. Winner of B
Game D (week 3) : Winner of A vs. Winner of C

I think that this is kind of uneccessarily long and we can shorten it to 2 weeks by doing the following:

Format 2

Finals Week 1
Game A - Rank 1 v Rank 4
Game B - Rank 2 v Rank 3

Finals Week 2
Winner of A v Winner of B

My mistake - mis-interpreted what the all stars was about! Thought it was based on the current season players instead of the future season...

Maynarde - perfect finals setup - gives priority to top two and still keeps all four in the mix.

Hey Rezyn, you didn't misinterpret at all mate.
The BSGCL All-Stars is a celebration and competition between the best performers of the current season.
However in the first All-Stars event it was decided that players who had been promoted outside the realm of B/S/G would not be eligible for the event.

So I guess you could potentially call it a showcase for "players to look out for" in the next season (assuming they don't get promoted out of B/S/G in the interim).

I think the main reason behind removing plat / diamond players from the event is to keep it B/S/G, while I realise they were eligible to continue playing in the BSGCL season (if not diamond lol), they're no longer really BSG players so it wouldn't make sense to have a BSG event filled with Platinum players (assuming Platinum players get the better results out of everyone in the league).

Maynarde seeing we have 10 teams why not extend it to top6. You could do a variant on Format 1 by having #3 play #6 and #4 play #5. The higher seed winner plays #2 and the lower seed winner plays #1 in the semis.

I usually prefer format 1 for a smaller number of teams (say 6) and format 2 for a nice standard number of teams (like 8) so this top6 format might be fun for 10 teams!

I vote for Format 2.

1st vs 4th
2nd vs 3rd

Making play-offs with 6 teams is too much in my opinion.

Interesting idea, although i'm not sure how we'd pull it off / explain having over half the competition in the finals...
