For those who don't know, apart from Starcraft 2 gamescon is also holding the Valve created DOTA 2 tournament which features an amazing $1,000,000 prize for the winning team. You can find out more about it in our thread here.

What's relevant now is the

Singapore DOTA team, led by star player

iceiceice, beat MYM in the Ro8 and now just smashed the tournament favourites eHOME 25-6 and are now in the Winner Bracket Finals and the front runners to take the whole $1,000,000 prize.

Considering ice is a full time national serviceman with limited time to play, and he plays multiple games - his ability to remain at the highest levels in not just Starcraft 2 (He is imo easily the best or Top 3 SC2 players in SG atm even without practising) but in DOTA/LoL/HoN as well is nothing short of amazing. He is easily the most talented gamer Singapore has ever produced.

Wishing ice and the Singapore team "Scythe" all the best! Please take home the grand prize!!

Scythe are already guaranteed a prize of $150,000 USD or $30,000 USD per player. Basically ice has just earned for DOTA 2 more than the whole of SEA's Starcraft 2 prize winnings over the last year. SICK!!

Singapore was dominating in dota for quite awhile previously in the global scene, with team Zenith (now known as Scythe with massive changes in player lineup) winning the ESWC (Electronic Sports World Cup) 2008 held in California!

Haha even though this isn't sc2 related but i hope dota2 can flourish and ice's team can be a dominant force in the global scene, it puts us on the esports scene and maybe that will be the start of professional gaming in Singapore, good things can only come with professional gaming starting in SG!
