I honestly do not know the specifics, so take what I say in the next paragraph with a grain of salt:

It's apparently against the ToS, therefore if you plan on competing in tournaments/LANs I would strongly discourage you from doing it. That's the only reason I would be worried about developing 'bad habits' because obviously you're getting used to a setup which isn't allowable in tournaments, which means adjusting to a standard setup during a tournament would put a massive dent in your mechanics. Apart from that, if you're just laddering and playing non-competitively, I honestly don't see why it should be a problem. It's a game, you're meant to enjoy it. Play it the way you like
