Well i kind of wanted to re-train myself. So i need advices on which should i focus on? How should i go about focusing on making Micro/Macro better. My Apm is 70ish, i find it tough to control the battle, make workers, units and i always, always forgot to upgrade!. Should i play more game with AI to improve on my control? (I do not have any practice partners at the moment). Do you all have any tips ?
i thought sc2 is a game of balance... Does building units consider under macro?
at times i over macro and have tons of money no unit lol. at times i micro so much that the other player's macro won me. Itz tough to strike a balance.
I also got hotkeys issues as well, i seldom hotkeys my buildings at all! should i practice with AI until i always remember to hotkey my building and use them! lol
You're understanding the terms wrong.
Macro is managing your income and doing it effeciently. You want to keep building harvesters and expand when possible and at the same time keep your money LOW. Build things right the moment you have enough minerals/gas to do so, constantly build units from your production buildings and get upgrades when possible. Ideally you want to never have more than 400 minerals, or 300 for zerg as that's the cost of an expansion. There are expection of course, like when you're maxed there's not much you can do with the minerals and gas.
Macro is not just having a good income and tons of minerals and gas.
Micro is getting the most out of your units, like blinking weakened stalkers to the back so they survive and can still do damage.
IMO don't worry about micro until you're like mid to high diamond. Under that you should be able to win just by scouting well and macroing up a huge army with the right composition.
As you learn to play more, you'll have to find the balance between micro and macro. Theres always a chance while you're microing a unit away / towards the enemy that you can use your hotkeys to keep units pumping.
I think the hardest is marco management. When engaging intense battle, i normally focus more on micro especially when playing zerg. Always forgotten to pull drones out for new expand or forgotten to produce more larvas.
However, this could be subjective as i think micro management could be as hard as marco management because when your unit gets too big.. you tend to just let it fight on their own..
