[PvZ] what should be my late game composition

i have a hard time defeating zergs late game if i cannot kill them with my 200/200 army in the initial battle and we both lose most of out armies it seems that he can get broodlords faster then i can get any tier 3 units out what should be my late game composition against broodlord inferstor roach?

If you want to actually be able to beat a broodlord infestor army head on (without relying on a really lucky vortex) I think the best composition is voidray HT, if you control properly you should be able to beat their army as the only thing that can kill that many voidrays is a bunch of infested terrans or fungals, you can psystorm the IT's and feedback the infestors if they go for fungals. corrupters don't do well against voids, mutas die to storm, hydras die to storm. but this composition is very micro intensive and if you stuff up just a little bit you will lose very easily

If, IF, IFFFFFFFFFF you get lucky and can hide a heap of carriers and the zerg is low in infestors and corruptors you can win, otherwise lucky vortex is most reliable. I disagree with aeq in that void rays are too weak against infestors but maybe with the recent changes they are more viable.

I think I'm in the middle of both of you guys. While void ray ht I believe is not viable unless you have godlike micro, having storm and a couple of void rays in your main army can change the tide of a battle significantly. But overall in pvz, your ideal composition vs broodlord infestor (not including carriers), is probably around 3 or 4 collosus for good splash damage, 6 or so archons, a mothership, 6 or so void rays, some high templar for storm and feedback, and the rest stalkers. While these amounts of units are generally good, it all depends on the amounts of the different units he has.

The problem might be that you're relying on a 200/200 army to 1 shot pow kill the zerg. That sort of style was viable pre mass infestor broodlord spine, but now you need to be a lot more active with warp prisms, chipping away at the zerg. Sniping tech, sniping workers, sniping bases, whilst amassing more bases. So when you finally engage, sure you might trade worse, but you'll be able to re-max quicker, whilst he's still trying to either re-max or he has to fall back to his spines. In terms of straight up im gonna engage you: Carrier Ht Mother ship 1-2 colossi stalker archon is best. But you need a lot of bases to do it, which means you need to be harassing him so you can secure bases, which means you need to go back to my first point haha.

That or a really nice 3 base timing using whatever you want, but you typically won't be maxed, you'll be approaching maxed as you hit it

What you actually need to kill a zerg with a maxed army is upgrades, you need to have at least 3-3-2 upgrades to trade evenly with the zerg, i personally would have 6-8 collossus, 4-6 archons, the rest all stalkers and a mothership with 3-3-2 upgrades and at least 20 gateways behind it. I would try to land a vortex on 4-8 BLs, depending how well spread are they, blink under the rest and focus fire them down. Sending archons into the vortex, then warp in 20 stalkers at a time to reinforce while u kill more broodlords. You will probably be able to trade stalkers for BLs at a reasonable cost, after killing his initial army, push immediately as he wont be able to remake BLs in time for your push. Warpgate cooldown are fast
