Yes the ABC is biased and if you've seen The Drum forums... very very biased in favour of the left.
i disagree with the first premise (most other stations wouldn't bother giving gerard henderson or piers akerman air time, their grovelling is puerile at times) but definitely agree with the second. keep in mind a majority of journalists tended to be in the middle or left of politics anyway.
the drum = centre-left
crikey = slightly more centre-left (bernard keane's stuff is still worth reading though)
the punch = centre-right
national times = centre but slight leaning one way or the other depending on the individual journalist (peter hartcher more towards the right, lenore taylor slightly to the left for example)
the conversation = centre-left
there are actually very few sites/publications that lean totally one way or the other (larry pickering, for example, would obviously be towards the far right and the nsw greens somewhere left of stalin)
Good to see some attention coming me, a new member of these forums, this is my first thread I've talked in, on SC2SEA. I'll try to get back to as many of you as possible. Thanks
Atleast you had the heart to admit that you made up the statistic

Yes but:
ALP= Pro public sector spending
LNP= Anti-public sector spending
Conflict of interest.
I hope you like my totally reasonable conspiracy theory.
@Dippa
Ok, I never said the ABC itself was extremist, it is however the most accommodating for the left wing and thus in terms of media as a whole attracts the majority of people from the left and beyond.

This for example, The Drum itself isn't extremist, but there is a lot of people on those forums who intend to rant on anyone not affiliated with their views.. and the Drum (part of the ABC) allows this to occur within their website.
http://www.sbs.com.au/news/radio/epi...rstayers-FECCA (it mentions 100,000 VISA over stayers, an inflated figure because it doesnt factor in the fact around half of those are caight out within a fornight vsing the 2000-4000 of 'boat people' the other articles mention, still it makes the case)
He means overstayers/ planes makes up 95+% of illegal immigrants (plane asylum seekers are still way higher than boat)
Nah he said 95% and then went on to quote something around 96-99%. You're not him to determine what 'he means' and even if you were you misquoted a statistic.
Idk why asylum seekers are relevant to the topic of Tony Abbott getting slammed by the ABC on the carbon tax.

Because if you actually watch the video you'll see that Tony Abbot is also asked about asylum seekers.
Atleast you had the heart to admit that you made up the statistic
How is the statistic made up?
