Im a silver lvl protoss who is facing constant golds and whenever i play PvP about 75% of players are 4 gating, up until now iv'e also been 4gating with about 60% win rate.
Iv'e been reading about how to hold a 4 gate, looking at builds such as bishu's anti 4 gate and ppl on here saying take your 2nd gas at 20 get a zealot-stalker- sentry and add 2 more gates.
My question is, how many sentries do you get after your 1st also when do you start saving for your robo or is a 2 gate robo better to hold a 4gate?
Any help or replays would be much appreciated as i'd like to improve and change my PvP style!
Thanks in Advance! =D

If anyone silver/gold would like a practice partner for PvP then let me know
i hold a 4 gate with sentries from just 1 gateway
i go stalker -> sentry -> sentry -> sentry -> sentry -> sentry
Note: for most agressive 4 gate variation you will need at least three chronoboosts in a row as you start your stalker.
usually ill then go up to 4 gate stargate and do counter attacks with zealots and phixs after i make 6 sentries to hold the ramp indefinetly
Edit: You can choose to just get 2-3 sentrys which will give you 4 maybe 5 sentrys while you work your way to a stronger army comp like 3 gate robo, pump some immortals out to completely destroy their army after you run out of forcefields
I'm not a toss player, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
Generally, 4gate is held off by going sentries, and then rushing for immortals. This isn't always the case, and if you don't have immortals then your best bet is some kind of counterattack style + sentry/forcefields. The strongest timing in a 4gate is that first push with 5 stalkers and 1 zealot, and if you can delay that push from coming out (forcefield the ramp, etc.) you can probably win with a counterattack, as long as your base can be indefinitely forcefielded.
Get that immortal out, protect it with your entire life, and defend the opening to your ramp/expo with more immortals and sentries. Throw some stalkers in the mix for good measure. Make more immortals. EZ. You have to play defensively though, the opponents game fringes on this attack, if you can hold it and keep up your economy, the opponent toss will find it hard to transition out of the all in. Out macro ---> win
Alternatively, you can just counter 4 gate XD
