Hey everyone, so I am coming to you today to discuss a somewhat imba strategy (well technically not because mirror match up) but basically it is a build that zergs do that I just can't seem to handle, essentially it is 12 extractor, 14/15 pool, 2 more drones, queen overlord.
So from this point the zerg player just continues to mass lings and banelings I only have about a 4 drone advantage, I hold it off, my drone count stays above him, I hold the lings and banelings, equal amount of resources lost, but after he is done, I start droning up again, getting tech etc. but he then ends up with about 20 drones ahead of me. Still ends up winning
Ill find a few replays, because I try my very best to play a safe macro game with only about a 4 drone advantage every game. YET! I still end up losing, I'm guessing I lost because I have alot of wasted tech and structures, but I found no other way to choke off the ******* banelings and lings. I would try 11 pool, however it is not a very economical choice at all. I'll be back tomorrow to find a few replays. Honestly, I'm sick of losing to this strat and trying countless ways to counter it. Roaches, Fast lair, hatch with a spine in both main and nat, defensive banelings, choke points with evo chambers and spines. Nothing.... Any suggestions would be great help. I'll be on with replays 2moro
Replays would obviously help, but it sounds like a ling/bane all-in and theyre just transitioning into a macro game out of it. Try not choking off with buildings as that will just waste resources. I would suggest getting defensive banes, 1 or 2 spines and your queen/lings - and then just trying to micro it better. Practice with a micro trainer maybe? You definitely need to scout to see if its coming.
I'm not the highest level, so probably disregard my advice, but I'm sure someone can be more helpful than me. If you do hold it off with minimal losses, you should just be ahead.
Seems like ling/bane pressure, except the banes would get to your base earlier than expected.
queens/a spine should be enough, but if it's a problem with your ling splitting or something, don't be afraid to put down your baneling nest before speed, just in case.
after that, transition into whatever you want, you should be ahead still, considering you don't overmake defensive lings/lose too much stuff.
Here is the link to a few replays I found, same build, zvz, all losses, I would love to hear feedback because this build is really rustling my jimmies.
I just thought I would let you know that we already have a thread with the purpose of helping out poor unfortunate zerg... like yourself... poor souls with no one else to turn to...
