Free Protoss coaching for BRONZE and Silvers ONLY

ToRSynzita.319

Edit: HI ! ^^

Im basiclly just re-writing this thread. keep it updated.

Anyway! as obviously put in title;

Free coaching for Bronze/Silver players, i CAN help with gold, not too much of an extent.

Basiclly. it's a mutliple hour session, where concentration is put into a single match up, or if time, MAYBE two match ups. (all time driven).
Details will variy so i won't discuss untill in a lession with a specific person.

For intrest in a session or two, or more. just contact me via PM or if not possible post on my account page. Also if you contact me, would help if put NA and SEA In game name and character code with skype name, to make it easier to contact about lessions on the run

I would find it EXTRMELY helpful if you can contact me about it, as i don't always check the thread. and also skype with a mic to make lessson so much easier and much smoother.

If i remember anything to add to this, i'll just it randomly !

Also, ANYONE who i have spoken with lessions for previously, and lessions/sessions never happened, i apologize, no excuses for it, sorry again ^^

GG guys ^^

Because he thinks is Protoss play is that good but he hasn't laddered enough to prove it. Because he is actually in gold on sea he is allowed to play in bsg's

"Thinks"??? Im consistantly beating players on NA of around that rank. Thats a diffrence between thinking im around a particular rank and actaully knowing.

Oh and to Minimat; i will be laddering my SEA account tonight. so i'll probably be promoted to atleast platinum, so that will reflect my skill a bit more then it does currently.

Im not here to disucss my supposed skill level, im here to offer my game knowledge and coaching to low league players, regardless of my skill, i feel that i can teach bronze & Silver, and too some extent some gold, something about protoss play, that can help them improve

My previous post did come off negative. Regardless I reccomend for silver and bronze players to take up this offer.
when syn and I have done 2v2's in the past at a diamond level he has carried me through games.

Personally i think there's nothing much you can teach Bronze and Silver players except build orders and standard gameplay. Bronze and Silver players are stuck in those leagues because their mechanics (macro micro scouting reaction) are not very good. These things actually cant be coach and are not necessary to be coached. Although its a good initiative, i hope you will coach the corrects build order ( non-4 gate lolz).

Sure theres build orders to be taught.
But theres also basic game concepts like unit counters, combinations, timings, strengths & weaknesses and the ability to look with a more experienced eye and say "this here is your weakest link and this should be your focus."

+1 to Syn for offering his time for the betterment of others, I wasn't nit-picking earlier was just saying beware what you say hehe.

To that end also, macro / micro and scouting ARE things that can be coached, coz to be honest lower league players don't see the issue as a higher league player would. How often when you were bronze did you queue units and go "ive been spending well!"?

+1

^^^ this pretty much. all good. ^.^
The main thing im plannning to coach is the macro, what to look for with the scouting infomation you have. good, safe, builds that are easy to learn, and what to do if someone counters those openers, etc, etc, etc.

These kind of threads have come up numerous times on this site, and many times have been shot down for the same reasons - are you sure you're good enough to coach? (There are countless arguments that have been put forward already)

I'm not on either side of this argument (I choose to stay out of it), just be prepared for this sort of assault, don't be discouraged, and keep your passion for helping others, because that is probably what led you to create this in the first place GL with this!

I would be interested in attempting to set up a time to try out this coaching offer. I personally struggle with the things ProAnnn mentioned like reacting to what I scout and managing macro past gates. I've been watching Day[9] and have been getting some builds from the MLG Replay packs that just came out. Please feel free to shoot me a message on bnet when you see me and we can see if we can schedule something out. Thank you.

Well I'm new in here (and relatively new in SC2 having only played 140+ games on it) and I'm not one to pass on any sort of coaching, so hit me up at EvilSWAT.711. Thanks to the forums rules here I'm not able to PM you anything yet so leave me a message? Peace!

So a guy offers free help to those who need it. People are shooting him down because he might not be good enough to use his free time to help others ...

Coaching and playing a two different things. A good player has good knowledge but Coaching is about turning that knowledge into information another can turn back into knowledge. A starcraft coach is not like a football coach. They arnt changing game plans mid game. A starcraft coach is a different set of eyes and ideas to help you find what you are good at and where you are weak.

I have no idea how good he actually is but the fact he is offering free help to those lower than him should not be bashed on an unknown skill level of coaching.

I disagree with you here man. I rekon being given a build order is one thing, but actually being taught why the food timing on a building (i.e. 15 nexus) is important / changes gameplay makes a huge difference for these newer players. You dont get that by just reading a build order list on TL.

Also, I rekon I will be stuck in masters until my micro/macro, and even to some degree scouting reaction improves. Imagine the bounds of improvement bronze/silver players would make if they even contemplated reacting to what they see (Im just guessing they dont..). Also, little tips in relation to micro and macro helped me right up until diamond - i.e. injecting all hatches at the same time, so that when you see one pop, you know they all need to be re-injected.

Exactly. I mean seriously, these guys are so fresh to the game that ANY help is good help. I wish I had it when I started.

(Notably however, I think the guys asking about his skill level actually had the context of why OP was playing in BSG when he said he was Diamond. Was just an off-topic question i think, nothing to do with coaching)

Hi I for one would like free coaching. Mainly because it's free. So sign me up. I'm a high silver player who believes i'm just a step off of gold. My build orders seem fine. I do believe i need work in technique (micro) and late game reactions. My name/code is Tonki.408.

Hope you still have some spots.

Thats odd because internode actually goes via Hongkong last I checked to get the US. I remember distintly when the hongkong servers went down a day with no internet into the US well was really only 2 hours but man it was not nice. Having said that that was a year or more ago and internode is always upgrading their network. Mind you sometimes my ping is down around 230 for US servers and other times its up to 500+ I guess its all traffic based.

Click his name in one of his posts then "send private message" or something like that should appear in a drop-down menu where you clicked.

Such a good idea to be helping out the community.. and yeah the biggest way to learn this game is to have some practice partners and people to help you look at your game and isolate you faults and where you can improve...

I, personally love teaching new players and have coached a few mates and my brother to help them on their way to gold and beyond.. and once they are out of bronze/silver they make great practice partners along the way to us all getting into GM....

Nevertheless, if there is any demand for it i'm more than willing to help other players learn and develop.. Personally I'm only a Gold level Protoss player, which I can to some degree atribute that to not having any time to ladder with Uni commitments.. I do however feel I have a higher level of skill.. with notable attributes to taking a game off NA Grand Master player and pro-gamer RGN.Future, in the NASL Season 2 qualifiers (yeah I entered it - was a bit of fun...) and a few close games against Master league players in ESL's...

Nevertheless - I'll also be available for free coaching (particularly as my Uni semester comes to an end for 5 months at the end of this week!!!) For any Protoss players and Zerg players (yes Also play alot of Zerg and have considered the switch from time to time.. but I played Protoss in BW so i'll stick at it..)
If your interested, PM me here or Add me on B.Net ChadMann.754 and we can sort out Skype sessions for coaching - otherwise, if your receiving coaching, feel free to add me to practice and trial strats and builds..

Not my intention to hijack ur thread man... Just think its a great idea and I've enjoyed coaching my mates in games... My understanding of the game is, I think, pretty good.. just don't have the time to practice etc.. not yet anyway..

Thanks for adding to the OP.. just say I'm also available, its ChadMann.754
People can learn more from multiple eyes and different people see different things. If anyone wants help with their game, hit up Synzita - if he is busy.. I'm keen to help if you catch me online.

I think this community owes people like Synizta and ChadMann a huge one; they're spending their free time (which they could very well have used for their own personal gains) to teach utter noobs (like meself) the intricacies of this easy-to-learn-yet-near-impossible-to-master game. They deserve a resounding round of applause, at the very least.

Heck, maybe soon enough we'll see the both of them plying their trade onto a lite version of sc2sea's Grandmaster Manual coaching?

Hahaha.. I can't see myself coaching for GM Manual (gotta be a GM for that..)
but thanks for the appreciation.. and the best part was watching you in game one.. utterly sucking.. then in the last games of the session.. actually learning from what we talked about and playing much better games.. If you can keep it up Gold is not far away for you mate. Enjoyed the session, till next time.. keep that macro flowing... and react to what you scout!..

I'll take this opportunity to vouch for the quality of coaching the two fine gentlemen here can provide.

As stated above, my first game against Chad was standard Wood League gameplay (non-existent army, laughable forcefield placement (that's right, only one forcefield), 2 forges with no upgrades queued; the works, basically). That's when Chad and Synizta started to constantly give me on-the-fly feedback, build recommendations, army compositions and so on.

I have learned much more in 2 hours with them than the past 2 months which I've used to gank the Bronze ladder. I am sure that many people will benefit from the training and assistance they will provide, which in turn will make this community a much better place to play in.

Peace!

^.^

I think main thing is putting what is being told to you into action without the person talking to you, telling you should be doing. Like producing probes, putting down more production, etc.

Only achievable through skype. This coaching's better than the coaching you get from Masters players who aren't able to communicate on skype with you. By the time their instructions come through, you're already too late.

yeah.. for some reason I didn't set up Skype with EvilSWAT at the time.. in the early games I typed too him while watching a few pointers.. nothing drastic.. but between games we went into some deeper analysis - really I think Evil is a good learner and has some natural ability at the game... But as I said, I taught him about understanding what he can see from the scouting he makes - Terran with no gas - Fast expand.. things like that... Zerg taking more that 100 gas - its not going to be just lings.. things like that..
then after he learnt those elements, I worked with him as to what the right kind of reaction is and worked on his macro... During the practice session, he went from being a low league push over, to beating Gold league players (not me tho.. ahhahaha)

GG - I had loads of fun, specially when Synzita jumped on and help us with it also... So anyone that thinks they need a hand with their game, don't hesitate to PM Synzita or I or talk to us on B.Net (our details are on the OP)

Turns out tonight (Thursday) ended up having some coaching done.
Would like to announce that thus far the coaching is going well and going strong, with basic openers, and some of the timings, etc,
Anyway, just backing up, Friday (tommrow) and PERHAPS saturday (Unlikely) I won't be taking anyone.

Just had a session with Synizta, it's my first ever coaching session by anyone, and it was good, can't say great cause I haven't had a serious one with him yet? Like I would play and he would guide etc. But for such an initiative whereby his doing it for free, it's super awesome and sweet. Chadmann was there to help as well, really great too so thanks for that Chad! Also met EvilSwat, a fellow Singaporean. :P

Great voice, although the accent was a little bit hard to grasp initially for a Singaporean like myself, but it was all good

Just going to practice hard and see where I go. I went into SC2 because of my competitive nature anyway (and there is a scene for it in Singapore? DotA as well, but I'm an individualist :X) but since I'm absolutely horrible now there's no saying where I'll go. Probably max silver/gold? :P /lowconfidence.

Anyway, thanks once again for the awesome stuff!

G'day there,

I'm a silver protoss and looking for some pointers - my main problem seems to be coordinating scouting and macroing. If I ignore scouting to work on macro I often get rolled by a rush or a bunch of counter/surprise units. On a different note, I think a player of his (diamond) caliber would be well suited to teaching bsg players because a GM might just look at one of our games and think 'where do I start?' ... ^^ thanks

sure man.. Add myself and Syn and we can help you out.. his details are on the OP and my bnet character is ChadMann with character code 754.

Hit me up if you need some help.. I practice alot with my team for the BSG CL so there are other players in the practice sessions often for you to practice your different match ups... if you want to join in with us - that would be fine..

But a usual session involves games with a bit of discussion before hand as to the players plan (privately, so they don't know what each other are doing.. lol) and then the observers have a chat about the game as it goes... like 'do you think that is a good idea?' 'should he push now?.. etc etc... and we all learn together.. of course there are usually some discussion after the game to talk about mistakes and what can be done to avoid them..

This sounds great, and like a lot of fun - without much of the pressure of the usual ranked slog. Thanks a lot !

Also, what time do you guys usually have a jam?.. and what time zone?

Thanks ToRSynizta for the tips. It characters like yourself that give the community a good image.

Have to say I didnt really perform to my potential (sooo much micro...ahhhhhhh) and was the first time I had ever played outside the ladder. Had me sweating bullets but loved the chance to get some feedback on my games.

2 thumbs up for giving your time up for us noobs. Will have to do it again when I have practiced a little more. Cheers

I challenge you to a duel.

Wolf, it's just an ongoing joke that coincidentally was heated up by the I.D that you have on here ('TheChad'). No one is questioning your motives don't worry

Speaking of coaching, i have some free time, i'll gladly coach any low-level Protoss players, hell i could probs help some evenlower-than-low level T/Z players (i play random... alot)
I'm a plat protoss player, but im playing as random now. T_T (Rank1 gold random player on NA, rank 15-ish gold on SEA)

Notable achievements : Never lost to Chadmann. Not once.
PM me on here or something, idk, account deets are on here somewhere too.

Synitza's idea though of course, so he should be your no1 choice for coaching/help!

I think its great people are offering help to lower level people! If you can pick up 1 or 2 critical things it can really help a game
