Its standard practice for retailers to follow certain specified price guidelines (price protection) and they are not allowed to go under it. Anything being sold under $60 in Singapore is not following those guidelines so its unlikely TCPdeathwing, you probably remembered the prices wrongly! SC2SEA will at all times keep with the specified guidelines and never go lower. So apart from shops keeping with this, the price basically depends on the shops you go to. For e.g if its the only computer game shop in town its likely to price it higher just because it can.
In Singapore yesterday at Funan I saw one around $70SGD and another just two floors up (near the food court) at $85 SGD. Like wise in Australia some people managed to get it at $59.90 AUD at JB-Hi-FI / EB Games while they were on sale. As for online, mWave sells it at $65 AUD and some others sell at from $80-$100 it all depends on where you go. We aren't the outright "cheapest" but we definitely drive a good bargain relative to the entire spectrum of shops.
Aww too bad I preordered D3 months and months ago though EB! Otherwise I'd most definitely get it through here...
I took forever to buy the full version of sc2 cos i kept seeing it at $89-99... finally found it on sale for $64 somewhere. I would've had it much sooner if this was around then!
D3 release date released. B-net offering $90SGD for pre-order.
Any chance sc2sea will price is lower than that, or somewhere around that region? I'm eager to make a pre-order, but if sc2sea price ain't much different I'd rather buy here and support sc2sea~
Someone on French Battle.net said that Blizzard online was selling the Taiwanese version for about 30€ ("1150") and that sc2sea was then far more expensive. What can I tell him ?
lol nirv I saw sc2 in comics connection at 60 or 40 singapore $ u got competition XD
I'm still a bit vague on forum etiquette as I'm relatively new to online communities. But I'm pretty sure going up to someones shop and sticking a sign on it saying "you can get the products cheaper elsewhere" is a bit rude.
the "lol" at the beginning tells me you weren't trying to be offensive but i dunno, just seemed a tad rude is all.
hmm yea they dont let you buy codes directly but they have always had a mypoints system where you buy cards from chinese shops and then apply it to redeem points and play time. anyway ours is just enter the code and your game is activated so its a different system, different distributor etc which I dont have access to. lets keep the thread to SC2 SEA / D3 discussion nemo!
I think i got mine for $67 or $63 or maybe even $56 from EB, i don't really remember.
from the mid-year sale last year (that included my 15% staff discount.)
but atm it's like $99, such a rip off.
Glad it is at a really good price here though.
