I think the biggest difference between Protoss and Terran is that with Terran, you have to actively pressure your opponent the ENTIRE game. You have to be the one making the first moves, as if you leave any race alone for awhile, they will just easily outproduce you with their superior production capabilities until you have no units left.

Not always true. In fact I find that Protoss is usually the one who has to actively pressure.

Example:
TvP: gasless 1rax expand vs 3gate expand (e.g. Tal'darim Altar, Shakuras) - if you can hold off any assault your mid-late macro army will be much stronger with your upgrades starting up first.

As Terran if you do 1-1-1s, then yes, you have to pressure because you've invested a lot in tech and opportunity costed your macro.
