I was watching the chat and Lost was advising that at the lower levels we pick 1 opening for each match up and just keep doing it so that we can perfect the mechanics of it and get used to modifying it depending on how the game pans out. I think he actually said pick a strategy by map AND race, rather than just the same build over and over for that race.
PvP: I am happy sticking with the 4G. I will worry about other builds another day.
PvZ: I think I want to try a Bielsko 4G for a while. Just on this note, I have seen a few versions but am not sure which is the best. Is 2G expo add 2G the best way? Does this work on big and small maps? Also, is it supposed to win on the first push? I was watching a game against Idra and it ended up having a rather complex follow up involving stargate, robo and archon with expanding etc which is kinda out of my depth. If it isn't good for big maps, I need to come up with something that is not too hard to execute and has a decent chance of winning. I also need to practice forge FE, but again, what is a good version to practice? I see a lot of people going for the 1 void + 5 phoenix and then transition into robo, but man that is hard to execute! Is there something easier? I quite like the idea of doing that forge FE build involving a whole lot of zealots (5 if my memory serves me well) at the beginning - it might be a 2 gate before core, but I am not quite sure.
PvT: Hmmm... I just don't know. I like 3G expo or 1G expo. I try and do the whole 3G, expo, add a robo, add 2 forge and TC, add 2 more gates. The thing is, I am still not 100% sure when you are supposed to push with this. I then get confused if I am supposed to tech to robo or just build up immortals and lots of gateway units. Are you aiming for a 3rd base or ?? I really like collosus, so maybe a collosus build would be cool. By the end of it I think I end up with too few units and taking too long before I am ready because I am lacking focus on what the build is trying to do. Thinking about the above builds, I wouldn't mind practicing a 3 base build so that I can learn to macro a bit better and getting past 2 bases.
If anyone has some good suggestions please let me know.
