[TA]On The Shoulders of Giants

As the chilling sounds of banelings morphing silences, the pollution of creep slowly rots away and command centers float away to areas looking for new resources to take advantage of, we come to the end of the epic tournament that was the LegoLand StarLeague #411. With the never ending aggression of "SwagOn.learniNGMUch" finally done unleashing swarm after swarm on the impeccable defenses of the terran hero "MyMates.MedicalGold", it's time to recap one of the most epic finals we will possibly ever see in the great game of StarCraft 2.

Game 1:
Crossfire

The game starts with both players sitting back defensively as we get the necessary early building up phase out of the way and both players choose to scout at around the 2 minute mark to check that neither player is up to any cheesy shenanigans. The first real deviation from standard play is seen at the 5:30 mark, when, based upon incorrect scouting information, MyMates.MedicalGold attacks, losing only a few units before realizing that the attack was made using incorrect intel, and pulls back from the attack.

Perhaps MedicalGold should place his scans better in the future

Both players now sit back, until the 7 minute mark, when, after much better scouting intel, MedicalGold continues his aggression, content with not letting the zerg macro monster drone too hard, and whilst he definitely gets the better of the engagement, is forced to eventually pull back.

Again at the 8:30 mark, it MedicalGold pushes out to put the pressure on our zerg mastermind, however this time learniNGMUch moves out to the middle of crossfire himself, and both players engage in the middle. One would imagine i impeccable marine splits is what allowed marinegold to, despite getting caught off guard in the middle, come out of the engagement well ahead of his zerg counter-part.

Had learniNGMUch's micro been a bit better, we may have seen a very different outcome to game 1

After losing the fight in the middle, learniNGMUch tries to play from behind for the rest of the game, but MedicalGold does not allow him any room to breathe for the rest of the game. Under the pump and after his overlord scout sees that he is at a huge disadvantage, learniNG decides that there's not point continuing the struggle, and GG's out in game 1.

Game 2:

Blistering Sands

After no doubt complaining about how ridiculous it is that this tournament still includes blistering sands, learniNGMUch's hatchery is finally randomly placed at the top right spawn position, whilst MedicalGold finds himself controlling his small terran outpost at the bottom left.

The game starts with some early harassment from Medical, and after poking around with 2 hellions and a marine, he is able to sacrifice the marine to allow the hellions into the base to pick off 2 drones and a handful of lings before the hellions are surrounded.

Zerg players have been known to be devistated to the point of tears by hellion runbys

The game calms down into a macro stage for both players, up until the 10 minute mark, when a brilliant multi-pronged attack, even using a raven PDD, allows MedicalGold to trade armies evenly whilst roasting a huge amount of the zerg player's drones.

This is one of the image results when i google searched "Line em up"

After perhaps getting the feeling that it's good to be a gangster, MedicalGold coasted his advantage, eventually skeeting his way into a quick 2-0 advantage against the ELO favoured zerg player, who would need a calmness stat of 10 to not tilt after the events of game 2.

Game 3:
Terminus

After getting punished by relentless aggression on the chokey map of Crossfire and then harassed to no end by hellions on the awful barren wasteland of blistering sands, learniNGMUch would've been the happiest man to see the map terminus since TA seeing aLt bizarrely put the cheesy Oxygen up against the macro god Deth on the same map in the SEACL finals.

Both players more than happy to this time sit back and macro up an army for the first 8 minutes of the game, until Medical pushes out with a small force, but get surrounded by his zerg opponent who proved to be more than ready for the attack, having the better of the engagement thanks to some sneaky banelings mines.

Fortunately for learniNGMUch, his banelings were much more effective than these ones

However, whilst learniNGMUch would win the battle, he would still be losing the war, falling behind 10 workers in economy, the game was not looking in his favour despite his map control, and MedicalGold would macro up to take a convincing army lead by the 10 minute mark.

MedicalGold went on to simply outclass his opponent, and the rest of the game was merely a formality. learniNGMUch put up a good fight, but was proven to be by far the lesser player of the series.

A worth champion, A god amongst men and a hero to aspire to, the name "MyMates.MedicalGold" will forever go down in history.
