SC2SEA Wrap up #1

Every two weeks or perhaps a month (depending on its popularity) the SC2SEA writing team will be doing a simple wrap up. It will be a concise summary that highlights good posters, the hottest SEA threads, scene news and major tournaments that happened since the last wrap up. This is not the end of June yet, so there is still chance for people to win June achievements by the end of the next wrap up at the end of the month

Member of the Month Achievements

In a bid to encourage good posters and welcome new members to our community, we will start to place more emphasis on achievements. Right now there will be two types of achievements that may be given out. Note: Some wrap-ups might not even have any achievements to given away if there aren't suitable candidates.

Quality poster of the Month
The first award is to show appreciation to our quality posters and hopefully encourage others to make such posts too.

New member of the Month
The second achievement is to encourage new posters / lurkers to start posting more. It is not limited by join date, if we notice a series of posts by a previous lurker who wasn't so involved before etc he/she will be eligible for the award.

These awards are not open to existing admins/moderators and you can only win each award once. The winners will be arbitrary decided by the person doing the wrap up, which looks likely to be crAzerk at this point of time, whom is active and very neutral and hence someone whom I feel very suitable to hold this responsibility.

June's New Member of the Month: Ben!

Ben joined the site on the 5th of June this month. He goes by Nova.773 on Starcraft & Ben#1163 on Diablo 3. He is from Brisbane, Australia and is "looking to meet some people and have more people to actively play with in the games I enjoy!" His helpfulness was quickly became apparent and he demonstrates it best in this post "I also have a heap of them (D3 Trial codes) if you have run out and would like the codes to give away to members just PM me and I will part ways with them."

June's Quality Poster: UHF!

Never such a regular poster before, he risked burning bridges for what he believed was right and spent a great deal of his time making really good posts to aid the discussion such as this one which indirectly helped turned the attention of detectives elsewhere, leading them to investigating another possibility of cheating. A fantastic example of a quality poster!

Congrats to UHF for winning the June Quality Member of the Month award.

Other New Achievements have been added and recipients notified. "Elementary my dear Watson" & "Cheese Master". This is how they look together with the updated icons. Much thanks to thegentleman who did all the artwork for it
