If you are participating please ensure that you are in the channel SC2SeaCheese by 8PM AEST.
If you are 15 minutes late for the tournament you may be disqualified.
64 players and cheese... lots of it!
You should cheese whenever you can or risk earning a permanent penalty chosen at my whim all of which are amusing and completely unfair... more importantly they stack with each other!
Failure to adhere to ALL your penalties will result in a disqualification.
Bad manners (BM) will also result in a penalty and a warning. Continued BM will result in disqualification.
The only race change allowed is to Random.
The only observers allowed are tournament administrators and casters.
Replays should be kept for at least a week and provided to a tournament administrator if requested. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
You should notify your opponent if you need to pause the game. Pauses may be for no more than 5 minutes. Excessive pausing can lead to disqualification.
If you disconnect from the match there will be a rematch (unless a referee determines that the match is already over in which case a victor will be named).
If you played a standard game or believe your opponent has played standard please report it to me so that a penalty can be awarded.
If a question is asked of you, please answer truthfully. Referees will go over any controversial matches and lying will be met with disqualification.
All matches which have a direct effect over the winner of the tournament will be watched.
Above all, good luck and have fun!
Example Penalties:
50% Handicap.
Brood War: Queens may no longer use their "Inject Larvae" spell.
Primative Technology: Terrans can no longer construct Tech Labs.
Artosis Pylon: At least 3 buildings per Artosis pylon. No building may be powered by more than 1 pylon.
NOTE: This is just a handful of potential penalties.
I feel this section is necessary so people are aware of what is considered a cheese and what will earn them a penalty.
A cheese is any strategy that is not standard and has a high level or risk regardless of scouting. Usually this means an aggressive cheese of some description... for example: a 7 pool (heavy sacrifice of economy), Proxy Gateways (no defence at home, sacrifice tech, will likely lose these buildings if the cheese fails), DT Rush (heavy tech investment, will not have much defence until the DTs are on the field).
Economic cheese can occur as well but it's risky and harder to differentiate between standard play. For instance a fast Nexus can be standard... but an early 3rd base is very risky. Alternatively a hidden expansion is risky too because it's hard to defend both your main base and your hidden base. More importantly, most cheese will be the aggressive sort and an economic cheese will often lose to the aggressive alternative.
Be warned, if a referee thinks your "cheese" is standard play you will get a penalty anyway.
