Updates - hwaitING results, site staff, oxygen interivew
First up, our first episode of hwaiTING was a big success! There were 400 viewers on stream, lots of people had their chance to play their hero glade, and we all had fun listening to glades perspective and unstable's casting. glade went a sick 10-0 with all sorts of handicaps ranging from 1) only allowed to use sunkens and queens, 2) cannot move off creep(including OLs, so he couldnt expand and nearly lost to mass mutas he didnt expect) 3) 1v2ed, etc Will write a full recap when unstable posts the vods, not going to post the replays tho i saved them, because for this the vods are going to be so much better btw after his 10-0 streak, glade was finally taken down in a 1v2 vs none other then Kelly and Vega!(unstables gf). Also a big shout out to unstable for getting things ready and helping me organise things at the start. Some big rl issues came up which i had to attend to which made me 20 mins late. Some things for improvement of next episode - i thought it would work like KOTH where ill just ask whoever is online to play. Turns out many people weren't online at all because i didn't say who was selected. Next episode i will have the confirmed selected player list a few days before the event. Torniquet has also came up with an excellent idea to use the next time, which needs more prepartion from me to set up.
Next up, a proper introducing of the staff of sc2sea.com, or rather the kind souls who have set aside their time to help build up our SEA community! You can also see the list here
tendersteak aka marcus co founder of this site with me, although he hasnt done anything yet lol! hes an actual programmer but hes too bz with his current job atm but im sure he will pimp this site up with great stuff only an actual coder could do, once he finds the time. Mezza aka Eugene, resident SG caster, news poster and forum moderator OxygeN aka wei yang, article editor in chief SiZeMaTTeRs aka Karry, tournament admin Shinta aka Dan, news poster and general moderator yongming aka community admin kelly aka caster, misc moderator
And most recently, our latest addition Torniquet aka Jarrad who has been wanting to contribute and so came up with the Brillant Idea of Replays of the Month. Every month he will feature the best replays he has come across from the SEA server, and do a short write up with screenshots! It will be alot more flexible then say replay of the week or replay of the day, as he can choose from the best replays over the whole month with no limitations. You can check out his first 4 ROTMs in the new top navigation menu or on the articles section on the right. If you do have any recommendations, do PM him and he might feature it if he thinks its good enough Welcome aboard Torniquet!
Our site is growing bigger and better everyday, and if you would like to contribute and help our community grow, you are always welcome to PM me and apply for a position, and with a short write up on how you intend to help out. For now the criteria would be a history of quality posts by you at this site or at previous newsposting/admin jobs at other respectable sites and most importantly a strong love for the SEA community! Ideally i would love some help in running tournaments like hwaITING and KOTH, or help with updating stuff like SEA tournament database results / SEA interview database, but really, just suggest anything you would like to help out in.
Lastly, SEA superstar OxygeN and recent $1,250 AUD prize winner and runner up in the WD finals has been interviewed by gosugamers. Check it out here Like iceiceice, he also gives a cool shoutout to our site haha
When I find the time i shall be working on an interview database soon which will feature all interviews of us SEA players and revamping the SEA tournament database with the updated results and a top 10 list of biggest prize winners earnings so stay tuned for that
Even the smallest donations help keep sc2sea running! All donations go towards helping our site run including our monthly server hosting fees and sc2sea sponsored community tournaments we host. Find out more here.
