The horse can die, I'm not sure if it can be killed by enemies, but if you fall off a ledge on your horse it will die but you won't.
I prefer to steal a horse and just pay the bounty, it's a lot cheaper. Plus sometimes you can steal the horse and nobody sees you.

So.. Anyone knows what those dragon bones and scales are for?:P well I play spellcaster and I don't see how the game will be fun if you made all your weapons do 10000000x infinity damage with that smithing trick and 1 shot everything.. Makes it like rank 1 gm versus last rank bronze every monster you kill eh! Just my 2 cents

Crafting dragonscale armor. Or selling, depends if you need it at all.

It can be, it's just very fat and has stupid HP regen. I had mine killed by 3 necromancers, few icebolt volleys did the job. It is also susceptible to fall damage, few feet high rock will kill it.

You can make your spells mana-free. It's possible to enchant for 100% mana cost reduction in a school of magic. How bout spam 'em "I WIN" firestorms? While one axeman can have 10000 damage, and will have to swing over 9000 times to clear a town, you can walk in, aggro entire town, and probably 2-shot some 120+ mobs it with dual-cast firestorms, all while in "slow time" mode.
Good old TES.
Followers are dumb and useless. After Lydia died, didn't bother to get any. Summons tank just as fine.

Anyone else playing on hardest difficulty having fun trying to make use of every bit of buggy ai/terrain + niche item and ability in order to survive regular dungeons/forts?
Haha it's pretty darn fun I recommend trying it for anyone looking for a challenge! You best have patience though! As a Mage I find enemy mages kill me so fast there's alot of hiding and sprinting around and sending summons at them. My potions also keep running out!
I kinda like how the thieves guild seem genuinely to be massive dicks in this whereas they were made out to be quite honourable in morrowind and oblivion. As such I'm currently looking for options to torch their guild to the ground rather then join it... Just hope there's a quest to do it so I don't feel like I'm disrupting the balance of the game... (if there is no quest will I be able to like in morrowind destroy characters vital to certain other quests? Or will they just get knocked out and get back up or some crap?)

I used to, till I learned Impact and Chain Lightning. Now most encounters are cakewalk. I still get 1-shot with mele weapons and arrows, but with impact, it's almost impossible to get to close to me.
Enemy mages are also easy once you master the art of iceshard dodging. And they are easier to kill overall.
Hardest enemy I've encountered so far was Marakai, I had to actually reduce difficulty level to kill him. Others are fairly straightforward, even dragons, and require 0 to no tactics or intelligence.

I was in a dungeon and saved RIGHT before engagment. Didn't know there were 3 mobs coming my way, they pretty much 1 shot me. Had to run all the way back and fine a little niche where they can't "walk" up, there was this little bit of rock that they just can't seem to climb over. Just had to kill the guy shooting at me, and slowly burn the other 2 to death. lol, a bit of an exploit. =P
My character is an assassin, level 39 at the moment with maxed out pickpocketing (stealing weapons and their armor from NPCs are amazing) and nearly maxed out sneak. It's exhilarating and extremely satisfying to sneak up on an enemy and slit his throat with an enchanted dagger for 15 times additional damage (perks)...
That said, as an assassin I do have trouble killing dragons at times. Your sneak abilities are useless against dragons so you have to rely heavily on terrain to dodge ice/fire blasts. Even then, your one handed weapons do mediocre damage to dragons too until you reach the juicy perks in the one-handed skill perk tree.
From time to time, enemy NPCs wonder around in packs so it's difficult to ambush them. But I discovered that you can actually shoot an arrow into a corner and their attention will be diverted to that particular corner, allowing you to sneak up on them and possibly take down one or two before the entire pack detects you.
My only major gripe with this game would be the shadow textures. For some reason, at certain angles the shadow textures are AWFUL for me. I run a GTX 560 TI with latest video drivers, so I highly doubt it's my video card. I hope a patch or a mod will fix this soon :S

in advanced graphics settings theres an option to increase shadow quality if you're playing on ultra i belive shadow quality is set to low or medium.
If you have a decent computer don't just set to ultra and play because the game graphics can be increased a lot more manually

Can make it x30 if you wear gloves with 2x sneak attack damage, bonuses multiply.
