I have noticed the BSG is no longer being run weekly and since the SEACL has finished things have become quite dull. This thread is just throwing out the idea of a little BSG tournament played between the clans in the region. I don't know the format or when it will be held but it would be cool to see some BSG gameplay again! who else is in?

That sounds great, although any form of clan v clan would be great right now.
I don't think we can do anything relating to BSG tournaments and such for a while due to higher level players being in lower leagues from inactivity and being recently placed.
For example the infamous KingKong is !!!
It would kill a lot of BSG player's spirits to vs people like that.
I believe the BSG weeklies will be back and I think Ben from FS has in mind the FSCT 2 games as well. I believe they are just waiting for the leagues to settle down in hots as some previous diamond/masters players for example, are still in the BSGP levels because of various reasons. I know some of these players havent even started laddering yet.
Meanwhile, we could possibly organise some clan wars as we used to which is at a smaller but regular scale, to keep things vibrant for now.
Having said that, mGG is actively looking for clan wars for our different divisions/leagues, so feel free to throw challenges our way

"and we'll invest more on Bots, as our first Trial bot, the 'NemBotElie' was a huge success, organising tournaments and being part of the Council of mGG. But there are a few bugs in which the bot cannot go past the skill level of a Platinum Protoss." - PaRAnorMaL
it can be said that sole deterrant is the fact that some really good players are in the BSG divisions (thank you Blizzard MMR system for fking tht up and now making BSG admins' jobs onekazilliontimes harder)
it can be done, I am willing. just need everyone to be honest with panda and not try to be so desperate to win something that they cheat... /glares

Their WOL rankings will still be around. Could possibly use that as a prerequisite for the BSG weekly? e.g. if u are dia and above in wol, but BSG in hots, please dont join? This will automatically sieve out all the higher league players who are still in the BSG for hots because of various reasons.

There won't be any prizes for a few months, and don't hesitate to kick anyone who looks suss.
The fact that ranked and unranked games are all in together does make it a whole bunch harder for us to see who's been laddering properly and is probably in the right league, and who's been playing unranked and is actually much better than where they are :/ Have to go off seeing them play, and I really don't have time to go through a bunch of replays during the tournament every time someone thinks someone else might be suss
I would hope that in general, people who know they're better than BSG won't try and play, but there are always some idiots who want to ruin it for everyone else. I will probably end up with a zero tolerance policy, which will mean that some legit people get kicked out occasionally. I'm sure it's already happened to some.
Could you make some sort of SEA bonus pool rule? that would settle the problem wouldnt it? and you could always look at match history after if you still think its suss.
Admining will be tricky and can be tedious. (+xx) points is clear cut that player is laddering. Losses arent as clear. Looking at the past 10 opponent's league might give an indication whether ranked or unranked.

pretty sure we cld get a proper Court of BSG for them to appeal (as in the ACTUAL BSG players who get kicked out by accident..we're sorry, kinda not sure?)

looking at a players past 10 opps does close to nuthin if one of two things happen:
They havent played in over a week and upwards
They 'lose and win' vs actual players (trust me, its easy to do)
theres a whole bunch of other things tht keep ppl in the BSG leagues...its just a headache to thnk abt it
but heck, lets get one up and running!

Good luck and I believe many players will be looking forward towards it starting again
And about the not laddering in weeks, I believe it was ruling back then, that they have to had laddered at least once a week? I know that a number to decide as minimum for laddering is hard but to go weeks without laddering would be wrong? Irregardless, all the best

The BSG weeklys/most tournaments in general, are open to everyone, clan or clanless
