A lot of people on the NA ladder have been complaining about drop hackers stealing their ladder points. I think this spread to the EU ladder as well. The hacker slowly causes you to lag, and people quite due to sheer frustration. And some people have reported their pcs falling down to 1fps, or worse, crashing all together. A lot of the hackers have used famous names like EGIdra, piqliq, incontrol, ogsmc etc.
Have you guys experienced this on SEA, or has the hack not hit our servers? (on a personal note, I want to ladder and wondering if I should not till blizz fixes/bans the hackers) .
There's a hacker on SEA as well, but unless you're in GM/high Masters you prob wont face him. He dropped SlayersDragon twice earlier when he was streaming
Yeah he goes by the name of ... damn i can't remember its in my broadcast on bnet atm but sc2 isnt open anymore... i wanna say "panniz". My bet is zanooku bought a new account, downloaded the hack and went on a rampage. I got 3-4 drops from him and GM ladder is unplayable on NA and SEA servers atm. If someone did this on Korea I'm pretty sure they'd get stabbed.
My other theory is it's a bot as it was online for like 8 hours straight making ladder unplayable. Of course it's probably just a very very sad person with no life who gets a kick out of pissing people off. Mission accomplished douchebag!
I heard of this on NA in fact saw the guy drop idra a couple games like 1 month later and the guy was still doing it unsure if he was banned or not, but either way blizzard takes there time in banning these tools.
The chances of finding one in the lower levels is close to 0%. All the drophackers will be in high masters/ gm where it will be unplayable. Sometimes being a gold noob comes in handy. I don't face the drophackers!

Don't give them the satisfaction they so desire.
I doubt it was ZanooKu aswell, he's always 'Away' in the 2bh channel. I've noticed a few drop hackers on NA by the names of PiQLiQ, EGLdrA and IGBJewbacca.
I met a protoss named "Zerg", just as the game starts, it gets slow as 10x, the reaction rate was fking slow, and the name that pops out as lagger is me, i told him, i know he's using drophack, and he didn't reply me, at least i reported him, lost 20 points for nothing, 20 point means a lot in grandmaster league T_T

It was more likely to be a guest account since they only have 7hours of playing time. And there are a lot of guest accounts going round. If a guest account got banned, its alright since it was just a guest account anyway and Blizzard aint going to ban the main account for it.
Hell you can even ask for one on TL.net and I'm sure people will give you one. Anyway those drop hackers are just looking for your attention. More QQing on sc2 forums = more epeen for them. So I rather just suck it up and not ladder. Custom games are pretty good in the meanwhile.

As much as Grandmaster's would love to stop laddering and just play custom/ practice with their teammates they can't because they have to maintain a very very low bonus pool. And you only find drophacker in masters/ gm so it sucks for them.

You do realise that they have to stop playing (winning) on ladder for 2 weeks before they get kicked out of GM right?

there was this guy that was really sus. He asked for a pause cause of lag and I waited a good 2minutes for him then I got lag dropped IMMEDIATELY after the unpause.
this actually happened to me months and months ago in silver
The game was having hiccups and it said waiting for opponent
He was going for a void ray rush as was common with low level protoss at the time. I went fast roaches and lings and the second he sees 5 roaches and some lings bust through his wall it said "you were dropped" even though it had been saying the my opponent was lagging. Not to mention there was still around 20 seconds left on the timeout clock when it showed up last.
I tried reporting it and everyone loled and said its impossible for a drop hack to work
I hope they get drop hacked repeatedly :P
But yeah drop hacks been around since beta.
Lack of blizzard doing anything except from working on ways to extort more money in upcoming expansions gave hackers enough time to adapt the lag hack to the current version
^^
Obviously Blizzard is doing everything in their power to prevent cheaters and hacks on Battle.net.
Not sure why everyone keeps antagonising them when they know nothing about the technicalities behind it. That whole thing about extorting doesn't make sense to me... I'd assume a large percentage of banned players will re-purchase the game.
Nothing wrong with getting money from customers either. Blizzard is a business, not a free service. There isn't even a monthly fee for SC2 so I'm not sure where this sense of entitlement comes from. We're all getting our money's worth from all the patches and community support.
