"Zerg is imba" . . . . i dont see any zerg winning convincingly against terran. they seem to roll zerg when they get to late game, zerg seems to get stuck and mine out then the terran blast like 25 mules . . it happened against idra and i know im not a high level but the zerg expands all over the map and still cant keep up with the econ?? It makes no sense to me 3/3 marine drop decimates a base, a zerg cant simply split the army or cut into his drones to make statix defense which lets face it just holds up the attack for a second or two.
to me zvt heavily favours the terran when you start hitting the late game. Anyone want to help me understand why everyone seems to think zerg is OP when i barely see them winning on the pro streams . . i mean the gstl all kill, taeja . . im not sure where this general feeling is coming from.
In my own l,ow level games terran when sieged and dropping all over the place is really really tough
dude u can split ur army with 1 infestor and some lings in every base for ur info and late game is favoured to zerg but for gg out played johnny recco so thats different he out macroed him and like johnny reco didnt have the super good compo he didnt have any infestors and thats pretty stupid
Uhm... IdrA lost because he lost all his bases... not because he mined them out and terran dropped 25 mules and trololoed him. Also, the new patch (not allowing hatcheries to be built on top of larvae severely affected the outcome of the game IMO.
It didn't affect the outcome of the entombed game but it did the Atlantis spaceship game. Idra made a few big mistakes that game
1) didn't build order right vs TaeJa, fell behind for basically no reason
2) lost his 4th without contesting it really at all.
3) didn't multitask well enough to stop his bottom left bases being ravaged by TaeJa
4) when his broodlord infestor army got finished off he remaxed properly.
This thread really isn't needed, exemplified by the part where you state you are low level... this will just create frustrated responses out of Terran's and probably rightfully so.
Zerg's do win convincingly against Terran. It's been a while since the patch now and personally I've seen a lot of Terran's really bring out some really smart and well thought out plays, and i personally have trouble with Terran at the moment, but you can't deny that Zerg have had a nice 3 months or so vs Terran. I think right now, the early-mid game is what makes it hard for Terran. You point out the super late game - that's if everything goes Terran's way. You can't reliably go into a game as Terran and know you are going to get to late game on even footing or better. You either need to take action through pushing to kill drones/waste larva while getting a strong enough economy behind it or the other option which is to do really greedy 3 CC builds, which compared to greedy Zerg openers (that are defended much easier by queens only) die to roach/bane timings or anything of the sort much easier.
Now i don't think it's fair that after every single Zerg win that ZvT as a matchup gets a dumb amount of hate, it takes skill to win in StarCraft and I have to try really hard to try and get a win vs a Rossi or a YoonYJ still, and it's quite frustrating actually when the race that is perceived as 'imbalanced' wins - you win and your race is outed as imba, you lose and you are shit or your opponent is a god... it's not that bad to me anymore, i think it slightly favors Zerg but not as much as a month ago.
Also, 2 examples of Terran isn't enough to show Terran as fine or even OP, player skill (those 2 individuals are amazingly ******* good) was the reason they dominated - it shows its possible to do great things with Terran, but the path to getting those insanely good results is harder for Terran at the moment.
Edit: sorry for failed paragraphs, computer lagging like shit right now!

And maybe a few other mistakes.
Yeah I was talking about the Atlantis game specifically not the series necessarily. I feel like Taeja definitely still deserved to win the series though.
again with the ur too low to say anything about this game. i know what im seeing in pro games but when i ask the questions or want a bit of insight, noone can give it.
Thanks Sc2SEA you got me to gold but ive had enough of that line spoken to myself and thousands of others in forums. Im out of here, thanks for the help from the very few that just answered the questions i had, Nemo thanks, PiG Thanks and jammin too but hell im too low, no big loss to anyone and im fine with that.

This thread is so dumb... you've got to keep im mind that taeja without a doubt is just a better player then idra... has better mechanics, better multitasking and micro.
It's like comparing aiguz playing against a low gm zerg, ofc he's going to make terran look good >_>

Woah, calm your farm buddy. Seems like your a very sensitive guy. I don't recall anyone here saying that your too low to say anything about the game. You just need to understand that when you come into a thread posting the words "imba" and "OP," it can bring some negative attention. I think Edge was just pointing that out and diffusing the situation before people started flying off their rockets.
Let me know if you find another community who is more mannered then us though...... I haven't found one yet :s
**** it. Theres a reason we say lower league people can't say certain things about the game and get away with it, because they are wrong and get misguided opinions about what they are seeing, form incorrect conclusions, and get frustrated with the game, causing other people to think things might be imbalanced when they are in fact, not. Case and point: If you knew a lot about this game in depth, you would know it is a battle of who mines more, trades minerals and gas better, and who outlasts your opponent. Taeja had 5 bases running pretty much unharassed by idra on the etombed game, idra lost bases several times, traded slightly cost-inefficiently whilst taeja pushed his 4th, then, when he finally build his ultra cost-effective deathball, he killed taejas army, but up to that point taeja had already established a 6k bank, every upgrade he needed, and massive amounts of production. Taeja only had to kill idras composition, and he would pretty much have the game won. The reason Taeja might have lost that game is because idra remaxes quickly on a composition taeja isnt ready for, and idra can kill taeja before he builds enough of the right army to stop him, and idra gains to much momentum. About drops: Taeja had set up a sick ass economy where it allows him to send 3-4 medivac drops of marines/marauders at not so much of a detriment to him if he loses them, yet can greatly delay idra ie. killing a base, also pulling his army out of position. This is simply just a good tactic, many races have different tactics like this, its just a ******* fact of the race. It sucks ass, get over it. Its not hard to stop, few spines/spores, and infestor or 2, few ligns n blings. Like you said, even if it delays the drop, its worht it as ur army should be quick and get there in time after the delay. At the highest levels of the game every second ******* counts. You won't understand this yet because at your level 30 seconds doesnt matter as much, because you're skill isn't as good and you dont play as fast you and your opponent give each other much more time to react to things.
Lastly, any race is going to look really hard to beat if you let them take 3 bases/cc's/whatever the hell greedy as **** opening they do without punishing it, thats just another fact of the game. They take a dumb (insert orb) risk at the start of the game so they have an advantage later on in the game. Whilst idra did go 3 hatch before pool which is nearly as econ even as what taeja did, taeja still also took an extremely fast 4th orbital, and as you pointed out, had 25 mules to call down because of these early advantages he eeked out at the start of the game, so he made 10 orbitals, furthering his advantage, and due to this didnt need scvs, so could build a better army. Its just the mechanics of terran being terran that allow terran to do this. Similar to how peopel used to complain abuot 300/200 pushes from zerg because they could remax so quickly unlike other races. Its just the way the race is.
I understand your frustrated because thats how this game is, you put all your intelligence and speed and skills on the line 1v1 against someone else and they come out the victor, its ******* annoying, i get it. But don't come to forums complaining irrationally about 1 or 2 games you saw when you don't fully understand whats going on in the game to begin with. Its fine to come to a forum and ask advice, or say blah blah blah i ******* hate terran derp derp heres a replay tell me what i did wrong. But, when edge does explain whats happening in a nice manner way as the dude is a sweetheart, you lose your shit and quite the community, its really just a dumb response. But, you won't see this anyway since you left. So, i guess, anyone who reads this, don't do what statix did.
/end rant

Hey dude, don't take it personally. There's nothing wrong with how low you are, you need to be ok with admitting that. I am a lower league player myself, I admit it all the time. It is our place to ask questions and get answers from higher leagued players, and that is exactly what EdgE, iaguz has done here. Very constructively too, they never at any point attacked or "lol noob" you. Take a breath and chill, seriously, it was a perfectly legitimate response and it helps us more than anything.
Reacting the way you have here isn't called for, as I've said; be cool with where your skill is at right now - just like I have - and treasure the reasonable, structured and fact filled responses like iaguz and EdgE have given you. I would also like to reiterate that I am "low league", and this is my opinion. This is a place to grow and discuss the game, most of the pros here will answer your questions and even have - but opinions on BALANCE referring to a HIGH LEVEL game something we can not really do CORRECTLY at our level. You need to accept that, I have.

You can walk out of here in a huff if you want, but the real reason you won't be missed isn't because "hell im too low, no big loss to anyone" it's because no one likes listening to someone whinge about something being OP then rejecting the ideas of some of our most respected players and community members.
If you actually bother to read, no one said anything about your level except for you. Unless, of course, you take disagreement as "lololo u 2 nub bro".
Maynarde puts it the best. He and I sit in the plat to low masters area and cast countless games of the top players, yet we don't even consider ourselves of a high enough level to make a strong point if we want to cry about balance. Perhaps instead of automatically thinking a race is overpowered you should first investigate the reasons a player lost against it, then ask what they should have done instead so they could win it. This is just for future reference (unless you're truly out-casting yourself from the community because you materialised some sort of insult), so that you can avoid even potentially getting called out about your level.
