Team Iris are happy to announce that AgUy and MightyKiwi, two Zerg players in our Academy roster, have been promoted to the main team! Both players have shown strong results in both internal practice as well as external competition, with deep runs in tournaments such as Masters Cup and wT Weekly. We here at Team Iris hope they can continue their hard work and success as members of our main roster.

Name: Elliot Whiley Age: 18 Race: Location: Auckland, On making the main roster: I really appreciate the opportunity I was given to be a part of the Iris Academy since mid November 2012, during which time I have made considerable improvements in all aspects of my SC2 gameplay, thanks to the awesome group of people that make up Team Iris. Being surrounded by friendly, passionate gamers that make me feel at home, on top of regular practice and generous help from the main roster players that has provided me with an ideal environment in which I have developed as a player.
I'm extremely happy with the progress that I and other members have made during my very enjoyable time so far with Team Iris, and I'm keen to see where that can take us during 2013 as we grow as a team and become an increasingly formidable force in the SEA SC2 community. I'm very proud to make the step up to the main roster, and am more than happy to give back to the team in any way I can after all the help and support I have received.
Lastly, I would like to give a huge thanks to IrisCrimson/Ben for sacrificing a considerable amount of his own time to regularly help me out with builds/analysis etc.

Name: David Gore Age: 17 Race: Location: Wellington, On making the main roster: The Iris Academy helped me grow as a player and a person; I have learned many things from my fellow team mates. I am proud to be able to represent Team Iris on the main roster and to be representing New Zealand Starcraft. I am looking to do well in SEACL and will continue to practice harder than ever. I look forward to the challenges ahead and hope to continue to grow as a player through all the ups and downs and be able to help my team mates as the have helped me.
"When we announced the Iris Academy three months ago to the day, it would be safe to say that we knew it was a project for the long term. I think, therefore, it is a great testament to the talent and hard work of these two players that they find themselves promoted to the main team after such a short period of time. Their desire to learn and put in the effort required to improve has been exemplary; I know myself and the other main team members are extremely proud to have them playing alongside us. I fully believe that they both have what it takes to be the best players in New Zealand and South East Asia, and maybe more . I'm extremely excited with what we can achieve together in Team Iris, starting tomorrow with our first SEA Premier League fixture." Ben 'IrisCrimson' Macdonald - Team Iris SC2 Division Leader
