Having watched Day[9]'s playthrough and after having in previous years made many failed attempts to complete the legendary game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, I finally made my decision.
I would complete this legendary game, but I was not man enough to do it alone, so I recruited the aid of my good friend Requim for my quest.
So. On that fateful night of 30th July 2012, we sat down at my desk, his laptop and my desktop side by side and
Oh shit. The music is already scaring me because I, after my aforementioned failed attempts, have been psychologically conditioned to fear this music.
Fortunately, (or unfortunately), my memory for puzzles is fairly impressive and the puzzle aspect was not a problem and they were mostly completed fairly quickly throughout.
Unfortunately. I did not always remember where the monsters were to appear. Or whether they were real or hallucinations, as the Kaernk in the Cistern gave me a horrendous reminder of.
Other than that it mostly went off without a hi- Oh shi-.
Maybe not.
Luckily, after a few hours, the terror subsided and we instead found it comical to die horribly at the hands of the monsters, but perhaps that was just us going insane.
Regardless, the legendary horror game has been completed and our next stop will be Amnesia: Justine and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. This time, without watching playthroughs.
*Please note that neither of the above pictures are my screenshots, as I did not think of taking them as we played. I intend to add my own screenshots for the playthroughs in the rest of the series.
