So apparently i'm a lurker in this colorful community. It's time to share my thoughts and opinion to the world (the internet) ! ^__^. At the moment, the "F2" button will select all units on the entire map. In this post I will primarily focus on suggesting that we improvise the use of this wonderful button (F2). What if we only allow the "F2" button to select units which are not under the hold position "H" command. This will allow players to retain their scouting positions and help players to defend their bases more effectively by leaving some units behind. Problems such as accidentally ordering all units to attack
(one hot key syndrome) and leads to lost of scouting spots and leaving their bases vulnerable will be diminished. If we could apply the function of "F1" button for idle workers only, why don't we implement the same concept on the units which are not under the "H" (hold position command) for "F2". This means, units which are under the hold position command will not be selected by the "F2" button at all , making Sc2 control easier for new players or players at any level. Thanking all of you for consideration and more importantly, making Sc2 more bearable with better controls for maximum exhilarating gaming experience.
It's a neat idea, but unfortunately it kind of ruins the idea of the 'select all army' hotkey. Leaving some units behind or in different locations on the map isn't serving the functon that the button has. It could also spell trouble for you if you're looking to defend from an all in/attack and you have some units left on hold position at a different base to defend runbys/drops that you could have forgotten about in the heat of the situation. It's a better idea to train yourself to react mechanically in such stages to reassign scouting/defending positions after using the 'select all army' hotkey
This can be helped by becoming more familiar with your control groups and control + shift clicking eggs (as your race is zerg). Becoming less dependent on the F2 key would serve as a positive improvement to any player
Ultimately overlords with the speed upgrade are a great scout and alternative to using scouting positions!

Thank you for your generous thoughts on this matter ^__^ . I really appreciate it. Well in sense of maintaining a scouting spot, we only need to leave a unit i.e Ling/marine/zealot. Leaving a floating Ov will only make it worse when we start to lose 3 Ov's which equals to a hatchery. >__<. However, when we want to def against an all ins, this is when your opinion really stick into this matter.Becuz yea, we may/sometimes forgot
(especially me =3) about the other army on the other bases. But it also allows us to def against a multi prompt attacks.
Anyway, for now, i will apply your suggestion on not relying on the F2 button as much and react mechanically for such situations. ^__^ oh yeah, Ov speed is super duper sweet! Thank you my friend !
I like this idea on improving the F2 button, but some people use the F2 button for screen locations (including me ) so I'm not so sure if changing the F2 button to doing that command will help that much? And besides, I think if you have good enough multitasking / high APM , you won't have much problem with that scouting and Hold stuff
I agree..but yeah, it's for the sake of other new players actually. Those who find handling too much tasks is chaotic at the early stages of playing the game. ^__^ Plus sometimes we miss-clicked and everything . HeHe ..Thanks for your consideration mate =3
