The Clan war community, Platinum and Diamond divisons to be precise.
Perhaps even BSG.
But what i'm asking for here, is if there is a permanent ruling on clan war's players?
As in; If I was masters two seasons ago, But finished Plat/Dia last season and am currently Plat/Dia, can I play in a PD clan war?
If there isn't a "set in stone" ruling for this, I would like to put forward that any PD managers in clans that read this put their 2 cents below and start a discussion so that we can develop a set of guidelines for these clan wars.
Yes, this issue does come to my attention from the recent AxS vs ETL clan war.
Where a player 4-killed.
The player is currently plat, was diamond last season, and masters the season before.
I'm not wanting an argument over that shit here, just a rules discussion.
Here's my opinion;
If a player finished low 2 seasons ago and has been / he should be allowed to play.
If a player finishes top 25 masters 3-4 seasons ago but has been / ever since, he should be allowed to play.
If he has finished top 8 in ANY season regardless of race change, he should not be allowed to play at / level clan wars.
This goes without saying that if your player is one of the above, you MUST clarify and agree upon this with the other clan manager.
I hope that this blog has some positive feedback and we can brainstorm even more ideas for the future of clan wars.
It's getting rather ugly, and I haven't really enjoyed reading some of the "feedback" at times.
There will be alot of legit ex-Masters now Diamonds around at the moment as well. Blizzard changed the percentage of players in masters this season (reason for the mass demotion). Last season it was the top 7%, now it the top 2%. The Skill celling in diamond has been raised by this.
Not allowing these players to play for a year is a tad brutal.

In the time, if they were masters before, they have time to get it again.
Bliz did say they placed a lot of players more conservatively and wont be doing it again. If they ladder legitly, they should get the promotion they deserve.

Perhaps lower it again from 10 -> 8?
The problem is, that more then half of those demoted wont get it back due to the requirements to be master having been increased and the amount of players that can BE masters decreased.
The 2% of the player base was also around in WoL, it was only season 1 and 2 of HOTS that it was relaxed to 7%. So there are quiet a few 'Hots Masters' that will only of been masters for these 2 seasons and wont be again (presuming of course they stay at the same skill level)
So from reading the info I could find, it is 2% at start of season, but due to inactivity it will rise as the season goes on. But on new season, its back to 2%.....
I think if a player who is masters but plat/dia this season and ladders regularly but fails to get masters this season, then it is probs legit to let him play in PD clanwars next season?

I think if it's just for clan wars with no prize money on the line then it should be up to the clan leaders to judge. There's no real reason to cheat in a friendly clan war.

Finally you guys started discussing the new Masters % on the last page lol, this is a huge factor and is easily the biggest factor that has to be decided on for all PD CWs in the near future.
Since the ladder was changed anyone who wasn't roughly 1200+ points in Master was demoted, because they lowered the amount of people that can be in Masters it's not just a simple case of "if they play, they'll get it back" because it's a lot harder now.
Essentially what has happened is that it's created a new sub-league of top Diamond players who were all Masters last season, these people are generally higher in skill than the average Diamond but below the skill of the average Master, the issue is whether these people who are stuck should be allowed to play in PD clanwars now that they are in fact legitimately Diamond players.
Even active players haven't gotten back to Masters, this includes myself, with roughly 60 games played on NA and 40 on SEA, I know someone who is a multiple time Masters player (GM on SEA) and has played nearly 200 games on NA and hasn't been promoted yet.
Which is why I suggested we wait for a season to see how it progresses. Kinda of like a 'reset' season. There are also cases of players who after being demoted have laddered back to where they were previously.
