After almost 2 weeks of signups : reference thread, the long awaited brackets are here for our first round.

Format/Schedule :

• Round of 47 : Round Robin (8 groups) BO3 |28 March(Sat) to 12 April (Sun)
  Round of 16 : Double Elimination (4 groups) BO3 Seeding/Group Picks | 15 April (Wed) to 29 April (Wed)
  Quarter Finals BO3|8 May (Fri) to 10 May (Sun)
  Semi Finals BO5| 17th May (Sun)
  3rd place match and Finals BO7| 23rd May (Sat) 2pm AEST

*Dates are subject to change; please check the thread regularly

Some Simple Guidelines :

1. No BM!! DO try to date and schedule a time/date to play out your games way before the deadline. No cheating of any type (including smurfing) will be tolerated. Any cheating will be investigated and the player will be disqualified.
   
2. Starting Map will be based on vetoes by the players to the last map remaining to be begin their sets.
   
3. For the Quarter Finals to Finals, players will veto the # of maps required and remaining maps choose the map they will pick if they had lost and the last remaining map will be starting map.
   
4. At the moment, there are plans to have the games from Semis to Finals to be casted. Can only confirm when the dates are also confirmed. However if any players feel their games were awesome and would like them to be casted from replays, please save the replays and send them to me. After I've collected a reasonable number, I'll try to arrange for that to happen as well

Other important matters with regards to this first round (round of 45) :

1. Please save replays until end of round 1 in case of disputes or if game was epic and players wants them to be casted from replay.
2. Ignore the stage 2 in this link/set of brackets (format for presentation is correct for this round but not for the next, a limitation of challonge)
3. Do not wait for the last minute to complete your games.
4. 1st random participation prize will be picked from someone from the first group who completes all their games

Ok I know the important question a lot of you have been bugging me about... the prize pool. As of 27 March, it is as follows :

1st : $100
2nd : $60
3rd : $40
4th : $20
5th - 8th : $5 each

• 1 random participant from the 1st round (round of 47) 1st group to complete games (prize : key)
• 1 random participant from the 2nd round (round of 16) 1st group to complete games (prize : key)
• player who makes it furthest in brackets gets cookies.
• possible prizes for stream for finals

In addition :

OSC points :
1st 125 OSC points
2nd 80 OSC points
3rd 50 OSC points
4th 25 OSC points
5-8th 10 OSC points each
9-16th 5 OSC points each

Please note that all games/sets must be completed for a participant to be awarded his/her prize.

I don't care if you guys hit round 2 of WCS (GJ btw in all seriousness ) , I've achieved a stunning 3 GPD clan-war wins. I'm not afraid, throw everything you got at me, it won't be enough to handle my KT-Life level macro

There were some hiccups along the way. Disappointingly there were some no shows, people who wanted to wait till 1159 on the last day to do their games (yes nicky I'm talking about you) etc. On the other hand, we have super charged groups who tried to do all their games in one sitting (hooray!) or finishing most of their games within the first week. Of course, there were interesting conversations and bondings between some players in some groups which I would love to see more of them as we progress.

Kreamy has decided to pull out despite qualifying. After some consideration, the decision was made to give 2 players who have finished all their games and were close to qualify, and shown much enthusiasm in completing their games a chance. They had initially chosen to do a bo3 for the spot but internet woes struck one of them. As such, Schnitzel will move on into the group of 16.

Group selections will begin today [when I get home from work] and we are going to go similar to GSL selection group style though probably over 1-2 days. A skype group will be created when I come back from work as we decided that there is much strategy in the creating of these groups and it would be interesting for the 16 to come together. The public who are keen to see the groups as it is being made can peek at the brackets as it is being made to join in the hype!

The top 4 seeds have been chosen from the top 8 from each of the 8 groups + in order of their OSC points as of Tuesday morning.

Players are encouraged to follow these guidelines to complete their groups (recommended pacing) :

1st set : by 20 April (Mon)
2nd set : by 24 April (Fri)
Final set : by 28 April (Tue)

All sets should be completed by 29th April (Wednesday).

Progress will be reviewed on the 24th April if walkovers are needed to help move a group (I hope not of course!)
