So, I apparently can't out-play a zerg player because I don't have the apm or the splits or the proper scouting technique or the knowledge of a proper anti-Zerg Terran army composition. :P
So, my last game was a baneling bust. Since I rushed for banshees, I had a high gas resource.
My play failed because his Banelings hit earlier than my banshee, but because I had a high gas resource it gave me an idea.
What if I rush ghost?
On my rush for banshee I had 1 tank at the ready, so if I rushed Ghost, that might open me to a new tech path which involves nuking.
Now, I know he might have cloak detection. But by having ghost, I get extra damage against Muta and Zergling, all the while having the ability to snipe Banes when I see them.
If you don't have the apm to split, you don't have the apm to snipe all the banelings.
If you're going banshee, you should also have reactor hellions. A bust that early will have just enough banes to break the wall (usually) so just kite with hellions and kill the lings. easy.
