MskiJaBiTo's Interview. (The Underdog)
Cure: Grats on coming in 3rd place!
Jab: Thank you!
Cure :You came this far through the qualifiers, then into the main tournament. You faced a few top-tier players early in the tournament like inF(SSL November #1), NEORedArchon(Blizzcon) and aLtOxygeN(SSL December #1). How did you beat them ? Were you prepared fully against their playstyles ?
Jab: I was originally unprepared at the start of this tournament, I was actually expecting my first loss to be with NeoRedArchon as I know that he was famous in SEA. I was surprised when I won that match. My next opponent was inF, I've heard that he was the best Zerg in SEA (Next to MoonGlade), ranking 1st in the previous top 200. But i only learned that after our match. So i wasn't intimidated at all going in that match as I don't know much people in SEA as I originally play in NA
Cure: I see, how do you feel getting this far into the tournament ?
Jab: I feel amazing, the experience of going up against very skilled players is already a treat for me, it's a way for me to measure myself. Having been able to get this far encourages me to put in more effort during training.
Cure: How do you feel after losing to Oxygen when you beat him the previous week in the winner brackets ? Was the loss attributed to mistakes or was it because he was at a higher skill level ?
Jab: I would have to admit, I felt more pressured today compared to last week, main because a lot of people were cheering for me to win this tournament. It could've been the pressure, which caused some errors in my decision-making. In terms of skill,
I know that Oxygen is a very skilled player but i'm confident that I can play on par with him, and if I dedicate more time to training I will most probably be able to take him down if we were given the opportunity to have a rematch.
Cure: Confident, i like it! During the tournament, many players suspected that you were Moonglade's smurf account, how did you feel about that ?
Jab: Well, I took that as a compliment of course! Being thought to be MoonGlade is no joke, with him being in GSL code A and all. I can only hope that I will improve very much in the weeks to come.
Cure: Haha, and for all the people learning how to play Zerg out there, do you have any tips for them ?
Jab: We all know that the life of a Zerg is hard, but that's where dedication and hardwork comes in. I force myself to believe that all races are balanced, and every loss is my own fault. I think it's time to stop whining and start acting, because I can honestly say that Zerg has the most potential in the hands of a dedicated player, and only we can limit ourselves in our improvements.
Cure: Well said words of wisdom. Lastly, would you like to add anything or thank anyone for your success in this tournament?
Jab: I would definitely like to thank Blizzard Entertainment for making this awesome game. Mineski Starcraft Clan for maintaining a sense of competetiveness, StarcraftPH Community for their support. I would also like to thank you Cure and Zanooku and the other sponsors for hosting this prestigious event. To my Family, for their acceptance and motivation and finally, to my girlfriend for her understanding and concern.
Cure: You're welcome ! See you in the next tourny!
nGenJuicy's Interview. (The MVP!)
Cure: Grats on coming in 1st place!
Juicy: Thanks babe.
Cure: You came this far through the qualifiers, then into the main tournament. You had zero losses throughout the entire tournament except for the finals, how did you prepare for this ?
Juicy: I prepared with a few of my practice partners,
and of course drawing inspiration from IMMVP himself!
Cure: You performed extremely well against Jabito. How did you feel taking out Jabito, the underdog that got so far in the tournament, and the player that nobody knew about ?
Juicy: I feel that Jabito is a really smart player but i studied his play and prepared specifically for the match ups
and, so it went well.
Cure: You handled the baneling bust really well in the final game against Jabito, what thoughts were running through your head at that moment ?
Juicy: It's common for zergs to baneling bust, so i incorporated strategies that will counter that if need be,
like having a better simcity and fast siege mode
. I was not surprised by the bust, hence why i handled it with ease.
Cure: What made you suggest that the entire bo7 series in the finals be played in Xel'Naga Caverns? Are you very confident in that map?
Juicy: I feel that Xel'Naga Caverns is the most balanced map and the interesting terrain features allow various types of plays, and usually TvT games are really long, so decided to settle all the games there.
Cure: You made quite a number of mistakes in the grand finals, what happened ? Were you nervous/pressured?
Juicy: Yeah although i was prepared, game performance varies but i wasn't really very nervous. Still the games were tight, therefore i could not manage as well.
Cure: Lastly, would you like to add anything or thank anyone for your success in this tournament?
Juicy: Yes, the zergs who practiced with me (TAEdge, Sweet, Revenant, Jazbaz) and DsDStarfish who helped me alot, Oxygen for playing TvT with me, and of course the organizer Cure and the sponsors.
Cure: You're welcome, see you in the next tourny!
aLtOxygeN's Interview.
Cure: Grats on coming in 2nd place!
Oxy: Thanks!
Cure: What were your thoughts on the games with Jabito ? Was losing to him the previous week due to lack of practice or mistakes ? And how did you manage to beat him later on in the semis ?
Oxy: I think Jabito is a decent player.
I lost to him last week, well i move clicked into his army when i got a huge advantage in scrap. That showed how rusty i was but yeah.. i realized in the semis that he was rather one-dimensional, so i just countered the one strat i was afraid of.
Cure: I see, the games in the finals against Juicy, you opted to go for battlecruisers for the first two games, how do you feel about battlecruisers ? Are they an underused unit ?
Oxy: I feel that BCs after the nerf are pretty useless except in TvT when it can break contains. They are underused because they suck in all other match ups!
Cure: Haha ! True true. Hmm, what made you accept Juicy's suggestion of playing the entire series of the finals on Xel'Naga Caverns alone ? Are you very confident in that map ?
Oxy: Not really, but we are buddies,so whatever goes man!
Cure: Haha, could tell from the side bet you made during the finals. What tips would you give to the other terran players out there ?
Oxy: Terran is a micro race, train hard on it and we can all be foxers!
Cure: Lastly, would you like to add anything or thank anyone for your success in this tournament?
Oxy: Haha yeah, i would like to thank all my training buddies (Jesse and Jimdiddy) ! Also thank you Cure for organizing the whole thing!
Cure: You're welcome, see you in the next tourny!
